With all the grad parties rapidly approaching (at least for me, newly high school graduate in case you wondering), I am in desperate need for cheap, cute, and not awful DIY gifts for all of my newly graduated friends. After doing hours and hours of Pinterest research I finally found something simple, cheap, and easy, but also practical.
Brownie in a mug sounds interesting, right? This quirky, but cute gift can go for a dollar or less depending if you have all the ingredients or not. For those off you who know what baked goods in a jar are, this will be really relevant.
First thing we'll go over is the supplies and ingredients needed.
For this project you can do it one of two ways. Either by putting a bag holding the ingredients inside the cup, which is what I'm showing you in this tutorial, or by putting the ingredients directly inside the cup and either putting a top on it or by putting the whole cup into a bag and tying it at the top.
Supplies:
Mug(s) - These cute ones are from my local dollar store
Treat Bags - These are from Joann's and I believe their original intent was for pretzels
Tags - The tags are to write the directions for cooking and ingredients to be added
Now for Brownie in the Mug recipe:
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup flour
2 tbsp cocoa
Pinch of salt
The other ingredients (not put in the cup):
2 tbsp olive oil
3 tbsp water
Then you mix it all in your mug and put it in your microwave for 1 minute and 40 seconds
Here's some step by step pictures and a link you the video version too!
An extra little tip is to use a knife to even out the dry ingredients and get more exact measurements.
1/4 cup of sugar
A pinch of salt
That's what the layers look like when you're done! You can put it in whatever order you want.
Then I just wrote the directions on the tag!
Then close your bag with some twine or ribbon, whatever suits your taste or the gifter's taste.
Check out this link while you're at it!
