Birdy Thank You Card

Hello all! Today I have a cute little card to share with you. This one is pretty simple (as most of my cards are), but I hope you still enjoy!

The base is an A2 size (4 1/4" by 5 1/2" when folded) otherwise known as half of an 8 1/2" by 11" piece of cardstock. The base of patterned pink paper is from an 8" x 8" paper pad by Colorbok called Hootenany. This piece is cut to 4" by 5 1/4".

The next piece is light gray cardstock cut to 4" x 2". I then embossed it with the Honeycomb embossing folder in my Cuttlebug. Next I added some pink satin ribbon.

Our little birdy friend is from the same paper stack. I punched him out with a 1 1/4" scalloped circle punch by Fiskars. I mounted onto some foam adhesive to give it a little pop. The sentiment that I stamped out is also from Fiskars by Teresa Collins (stamp set called Thank You). I stamped it with my Colorbok black pigment ink. I then cut it into a banner shape and gave it some dimension by bending it with my bone folder. Then used a little bit of foam adhesive on this piece too.

To finish off this cute thank you card I added three pink rhinestones from K & Company. I decided to do three different sizes to give it some interest.

DIY Dorm Decor // Floral Globes + BONUS DIY Project!

Are you looking for a way to spice up your dorm decor? Try out this perfect (and inexpensive) DIY to add a little color and texture into your dorm room or apartment!

To start off, here's the supplies you'll need! A Styrofoam ball, (mine is 4" diameter from Joann's), some silk flowers (I used 9 bunches of Hydrangeas from the Dollar Store), scissors (or wire cutters if you have them). Some optional supplies include hot glue gun and ribbon (if you'd like to hang it).

The first step in this process is to cut all of your flowers about 1 1/2" to 2" down the stem. This size will vary due to how large your Styrofoam ball is.

Then you'll start to put the flowers into your Styrofoam ball. You want to put them close enough together that you can't see the white of the foam, but also not too close so they are crowding each other out. For a better demonstration of this stay tuned for the video at the end of this post!

This is what it'll start to look like when you begin to put more and more on. I have to admit that this DIY is not for those who get easily frustrated. There were quite a few hiccups in this DIY for me. I really think if I had more reliable wire cutters it would've been slightly easier.

As you can see the one made out of the cream Dahlias turned out slightly smaller overall compared to the one made of hydrangeas. But they really balance each other out perfectly. I would highly recommend that you buy more flowers than you'll think you need. I ran out on both of my projects (but I saved the day!)

Bonus DIY

For the bonus DIY I just used an empty jar (mason jars work too), the extra flowers I had, some washi tape, and a hot glue gun!

Pastel Friend Card

Hello everyone! I hope you're enjoying your summer so far! Today I have a beautiful pastel card to share with you that I made for my mother for her to give to a friend.

Here's the overview of this simple easy and simple card. It is an A2 sized card (4 1/4" by 5 1/2") that is in portrait landscape. I started with a base of mint green cardstock and then a layer of kraft cardstock (4" x 5 1/4").

The next layer, is white cardstock is 3 1/4" x 4". I then used my Cuttlebug to die cut the top note shape for the flower to nestle in. The polka dot flower is from Recollections and the yellow fabric brad I believe is from Making Memories.

To finish it off I rounded all of the bottom corners. The yellow ribbon is from Walmart and the stamp is from Studio g. I stamped it in Colorbok Black pigment ink.

I hope you enjoyed this card! If I ever make it again I would probably add a polka dot emboss to the kraft cardstock (just for a little more pizzazz). Please share your pastel cards in the comments below, I'd love to see them!

DIY // Ticket Stub Shadow Box!

Happy summer everyone! I hope you're all enjoying it even though the weather hasn't been particularly as summery as everyone would like it to be. Today I am sharing with you a fun and simple DIY project I made for my very lovely boyfriend. I thought it would be a cute way of keeping all of our ticket stubs in one place because right now they're all just sitting in a ziplock bag!

Here's the final product I made. Hopefully yours will fit your taste or decor the way you want it to!

Now here's all of the supplies you'll need/want to get started:

Shadow box:

I purchased mine at Michael's (they're a bit pricey and I would highly recommend finding a coupon first): Top-Loading 11x14 Shadow Box

Note: You do not have to get a top loading box, if this is just to preserve a certain time of tickets or cards or whatever you may have collected, go for a less expensive back loading version instead.

You'll need all of the typical tools and supplies like glue, scissors, paper, paper trimmer, etc. so I won't list them out for you. If you need further instruction check out the video on my YouTube Channel or at the end of this post which gives more thorough instructions.

Now, I decided to keep my background fairly simple. I only used one piece of patterned paper and two colors of cardstock to make up my background of the shadow box.
