These cards are the traditional A2 size at 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" made out of white cardstock. My background paper is from DCWV's Halloween stack which is a couple of years old. Still working on this dang paper stack! This is one of my biggest purchase regrets currently, but I am getting through it, piece by piece.


I used some chipboard pieces from Studio G as a center point and used a white doily from Recollections to create a flat base. The sentiment on the front of the card is from a new stamp set that I picked up from Michael's the other night when they were 60% off. I stamped all of my sentiments in Memento black ink.


The inside of the first card uses the same stamp set as the front. I love how I can mix and match these banner pieces to make a fun sentiment! I also stamped a tiny little pumpkin at the top of this inside.


This card has a lot of different elements. The sentiment is from an old Studio G sticker set, the washi tape is from Recollections, the glitter bat is from EK Success, and the witch's hat is from October Afternoon. This is a great way to use larger or leftover die cut pieces in your stash.

 This is a similar layout to my last double page layout share. I tend to put the main title/filler card on the right side. The difference for this one from the last one is mostly the left side. I often like to try and spread my photos across multiple pockets. This time I did a fun technique of making the photos stretch all the way across. I like the way it turned out. Very simple, but the same background really helps the flow.


The top filler card uses Craft Smith patterned paper as a base. Then, I layered a piece of purple washi tape from Freckled Fawn. The "hello lovely" circle is from Kasier Craft's Finder's Keepers collection. I wanted to keep things light since the photos were very cool toned.


 This is one of my favorite title cards ever! The background paper is from Basic Grey. I love the dainty floral next to the dainty birds. The title is a little smooshed, but that's okay. The fonts that I used are from Fancy Pants, Studio 112, Webster's Pages, American Crafts, and Maggie Holmes in that order. The mixture of sizes and textured is so much fun.


The last filler card is using the same paper as the top one. I layered a simple Shimelle feather die cut on top of it. To finish is off I added some resin flowers and Fancy Pants puffy stickers. I hope you enjoyed this layout. Thanks for stopping by!

I chose two different style pocket page styles from Simple Stories. As I have said before, I find that the Simple Stories pocket pages are oversized. For example, a 3" x 4" pocket, leaves a 3" x 4" card swimming with space. While the extra space doesn't bother me, it could be annoying to others.


The left page of this spread is completely photos. I tried to get a mix of colors without overwhelming the page. All of these birds pictures on the left side were in the same room. Since they were in the same setting, they have similar lighting an backdrops which helps the eye meld them together and make it more cohesive.


This is one of my absolute favorite filler cards I have made in a while. I started by cutting a 4" x 6" card from Kaiser Craft's Finder's Keepers collection 6x6 pad. This lovely blue pastel background is great for the beautiful die cuts on top. These die cuts were a lucky find from Recollections at Michael's. They are actually from a banner kit and I simply use them as regular die cuts. I layered a simple white doily behind them for a fuller base. I made a title using an American Crafts chipboard script word and some Oriental Trading box letter stickers.


To complete this card I used some Fancy Pants puffy circles and a Studio Calico wood veneer bird. Lastly, I sprinkled gold Heidi Swapp color shine along the outskirts. I have been really in to making kraft colored card bases lately. I just feel like it goes with the theme of the card! This blog post will not be as detailed as my video is. However, I'll go in to more of the product details and how I put the card together here. If you'd like to know more about the technique for this card, I would recommend watching the video tutorial below.


There are so, so, so many different ways to get color on to paper. My first recommendation when trying to watercolor, use watercolor paper. That was my first mistake! Since moving, I've realized there are quite a few products I have accidentally left at home and have had yet to replace here in the new place. If you use watercolor paper you are more likely to get some brighter results. I also do nontraditional techniques with watercoloring, but you saw all of that in the video.


I love doing this background technique on simple cards. I use some of my geometric die sets to make these repetitive embossed backgrounds. It is very simple to do, all you need is foam and a special machine sandwich. You'll see more details on that in the video as well. These hexagon dies are from Echo Park.


After the background was embossed, I picked out the perfect sentiment to go as the centerpiece. This little strip is from the Craft Smith paper pad from Michaels. I am in love with it! I took the punched out leaves and placed them in a graceful falling pattern on the card. I love the variation of the watercolor leaves.


To finish this card, I used some gold sequins scattered about. I love using multi sized sequins. These ones are some from my stash. I hope you enjoyed this video tutorial and card. Thanks for stopping by!

Hello everyone all welcome back to my blog! It's weird how things work some times. I have yet to make a single Halloween card, but here I am with another Thanksgiving themed card! Well, at least I'll be early for one holiday. I mean, before you know it, I'll be doing Christmas cards before Halloween cards! I must say that I have been wanting to use some of these autumnal themed supplies and have finally gotten around to it. Let's dive in to today's creation!


I made a brand new size card! I've never made a card this size before, but I had some envelopes laying around and decided it was about time I put a card in to them. My base is made out of 110 lb white cardstock and cut to make a 5" x 3 1/2" card. I like smaller cards for some of my smaller stamp sets or when I have a little less to say. A handmade card will make anyone smile no matter the size.


The background panel of my card is a simple patterned paper from one of Craft Smith's new paper pads. I was in the autumnal mood when I went to Michael's a couple of weeks ago and the hot buy paper pads were calling my name and they were on sale. That being said, I definitely, definitely, definitely do not need to buy more paper. I cut this patterned paper to 4 3/4" x 3 1/4". I wanted to add more detail to this background, so I ended up using my Recollections scalloped bored punch. This punch is great for large and small projects with the large scale scallops. I also think that the dainty dots add a nice touchy of whimsy.


I then moved on to the stamping portion of this card. I used this absolutely adorable Lawn Fawn stamp set. I used the cute pie and sentiment on the front of the card. I did a quick round of watercoloring on my pie and cut the sentiment in to a cute banner. Since this card is small, I didn't think that the entire space needed to be filled. I did want to add more texture. To achieve this I used tan embroidery thread in a neat little bow.


To finish off this card, I used the accompanying sentiment from the set on the inside. I also stamped this in Memento black ink. I hope you enjoyed this little Thanksgiving card. I started this card by creating a sturdy base. This is made out of 110 lb cardstock cut to 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and scored at 4 1/4" to create an A2 sized card. Then, I worked on the background. I used white cardstock, trimmed to 4" x 5 1/4". After looking through my green ink pads, I chose this leaf green color. I used a Close To My Heart stamp called Little Leaves. This is a square stamp, so I simple repeated the small pattern in a stair step pattern on the background. I used my stamping tool to help with the positioning.


Once the ink was dry, I moved on to the main elements. I pulled out some Pebbles die-cuts to make a little bouquet of flowers. I layered a simple sentiment on top to keep the card simple. This sentiment is from a paper pad from Craft Smith that I picked up from Michael's recently.


To complete this simple card, I used some clear cupped sequins from Darice. I used two sizes to create more interest. This card is a simple way to say thanks. I hope you take the chance during this autumnal season to thank people in your life. Thanks for stopping by!

When setting up a new craft space, some times the furniture is the hardest part. I didn't bring much of any furniture with me from home, so I had to buy a new desk. Most desks on the market are not white or way too expensive. I opted to go the IKEA route since I live close to one now, but I didn't search in the office section. I've dreamed about having a white surface to craft on for so long! I ended up finding the perfect low-cost solution, a dining table! If you've seen my old craft room tour, you'll know that I use a dining table in there as well. This time I bought this one from IKEA. It is so large and beautiful!


While I haven't actually had a ton of time to even test out this new set up, I think it'll work. If I make any major changes, I will definitely be willing to share them. Hello friends! Welcome back to the blog! While the weather here hasn't cooled down too much, it is still technically autumn! I'm celebrating this great season with a cute thankful card. I'm featuring a stamp set by W Plus 9 and it is the perfect little stamp set! Let's dive right in.


This is a traditional sized card being 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" when folded. I used 110 lb white cardstock in order to create a sturdy base. The next layer is 65 lb Kraft cardstock cut to 4" x 5 1/4". I used an Echo Park embossing folder to add more dimension and texture. Next, I layered a 4" white doily from Wilton. I didn't want the card to look very flat, so I went all out with the different textures. I pulled out this light mustard yellow embroidery floss and bunched up in the center of the doily. Then, I used a piece of patterned paper from Craft Smith punched using a 2" circle punch.



This sentiment is so, so amazing. This is from the same W Plus 9 stamp set and I used Memento black ink for a dark impression. This card is perfect for this time of year when we want to express our thankfulness to those in our lives. I hope you enjoyed this card! Thanks for stopping by!

This page has a title that extends across four pockets. Since the white space was consistent across the top edge, I treated it as if it was a full piece of cardstock that was 12" long. I simple found an alphabet that worked for this space and spaced them out accordingly. I think the minimal look represents the skyline well too.


I had one photo that wasn't like the others. Since it was a little different, it needed something different for it's cluster. I decided to do something less structured and more free form. I used circular and ripped elements. I layered two pieces of washi tape (one from Target and one from Michael's). Then, I added an Elle's Studio diecut with two tiny staples. Lastly, I used an Amy Tangerine puffy sticker and some Fancy Pants puffy dots to complete this page.


All photo layouts don't have to be overwhelming. Being strategic with photo placement can really help the flow of a layout. Sometimes similar photos can help make a page. I hope you enjoyed this double page spread! Thanks for stopping by!

I created a simple 4" x 4" square card base using 110 lb white cardstock. Then, I cut the background layer. I made this piece 3 3/4" x 3 3/4" square. Next, I moved on to the stamping. I didn't have an exact plan at first, but rolled along with it as I went.


I stamped the sentiment on to the background using my stamping tool to ensure the sentiment was straight. I used the stamps with Memento black ink to get a dark black impression. After I stamped the vacuum and the appropriate face, I decided to use colored pencils to fill it in.


Lastly, to add more color and shine I used Heidi Swapp color shine to make a fun background. I also used the gold to edge the border of my background paper to provide more definition. Once that was completed, I stamped a sentiment. I cut a strip of white cardstock to 1" x 4". This sentiment from the stamp set was stamped in Red Lipstick ink from Color Box. I glued the sentiment on to the background and then popped it up on some foam for dimension.

Yes, I have been making some cards! I am sending out a couple this week actually. I want to create a series of Halloween cards to send to everyone back home as well. I think they will like it.
