This page has a title that extends across four pockets. Since the white space was consistent across the top edge, I treated it as if it was a full piece of cardstock that was 12" long. I simple found an alphabet that worked for this space and spaced them out accordingly. I think the minimal look represents the skyline well too.


I had one photo that wasn't like the others. Since it was a little different, it needed something different for it's cluster. I decided to do something less structured and more free form. I used circular and ripped elements. I layered two pieces of washi tape (one from Target and one from Michael's). Then, I added an Elle's Studio diecut with two tiny staples. Lastly, I used an Amy Tangerine puffy sticker and some Fancy Pants puffy dots to complete this page.


All photo layouts don't have to be overwhelming. Being strategic with photo placement can really help the flow of a layout. Sometimes similar photos can help make a page. I hope you enjoyed this double page spread! Thanks for stopping by!

This isn't your average layout. This is mainly a divider page. I really wanted this scrapbook in its entirety to feel like it has chapters or sections. This particular layout I made today is a symbol as the start of our Nassau section of the trip. Have you all ever made dividers of sorts for your scrapbooks? So without further ado, let's jump into the process of the layout.


As you can tell, this was a relatively simple layout. I didn't include any journaling or many embellishments. I just wanted the title and the photo to really set the tone for the next portion of the book. I think that dividers are helpful in travel scrapbooks, especially ones that will be visiting a lot of countries for example. It helps the viewer know where the photos were taken without having to write it on every page.


I started this layout with a kraft cardstock base and then dived into my DCWV Coastal paper stack. I love, love, love all of the papers in this stack! I ended up choosing this fun white plank/wood grain pattern and cutting it into fourths. I have seen this technique of portioning the papers into triangles and thought it would be fitting for this statement piece.


I wanted to prevent the layout from feeling like it was running off of the page. To do this I grabbed some high contrast ribbon and glued a strip down each to each of the white patterned paper edges. To give the layout a little more color I added these fun vellum waves from Studio Calico.



Lastly, the title is made out of some really old letter stickers and a fun cork word from DCWV. I also included a road map geo tag to the layout. Overall, I like how this layout has a striking center column feel. It gives the layout power, but also brings attention to the photo. I hope you enjoyed this layout!
