To switch it up a little bit, today I thought I would share a fun little birthday card I made! It uses up some of the scraps I had and it turned out lovely! I first started off by cutting down some white cardstock to make an A2 sized card. In order to do this, I cut it to be 8 1/2" x 5 1/2". Once we score and fold it down the middle, the finished card size will be 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".
Once I had my based established, I pulled out two patterned papers. The blue chevron paper is from My Mind's Eye and the green floral paper is from Dear Lizzy. I wanted a small border of white around the base of the card, so I cut the blue chevron down to 4" x 5 1/4". Then I added a strip of kraft cardstock that is 1 1/2" x 5 1/2".
I layered a 3 1/2" x 3 1/4" piece of the floral paper on top of that and then worked on the sentiment and icon portion of this card. I happen to have a perfectly matching flower die cut from K&Company that I think it is the perfect addition to this card! I put that up onto some foam adhesive to give it some dimension. This helps it stand out from the background as well.
I stamped this simple Studio G sentiment onto some white cardstock in some Memento black ink. Then cut a little banner into one end of it. To complete the card I added a teeny tiny butterfly onto the banner and a few green rhinestones on to the bottom right hand corner.
