Happy new year everyone! I hope 2016 brings you what you need! Today's post is all about celebrating! Many people have NYE parties or stay at home and still have a get together, either way these last minute DIY ideas are for you!



NYE parties can have different themes whether it be silver and gold, confetti, or the Great Gatsby! Personally, I like the classic themes using metallics and glitter. Whatever it may be I hope my party tips and DIYs help you. :)

Our first DIY on the table are these adorable glitter glasses. These are all over Pinterest in shot glass form, but why not make it a little more sophisticated?! These plastic stem ware are from the Christmas clearance section and they are disposable. How much easier could it be?


To make these beauties I just used mod podge, a paint brush, and some extra fine glitter. However, if you're using real glasses that you want to keep, be sure to look into what type of sealant is needed over the glitter so it stays in place during washing.

I began by brushing on the glue up the stem of the glass. You can put the glue in different patterns even to add some extra pizzazz. Once you've applied a generous amount of mod podge, lightly sprinkle your glitter over the glue area. Being sure to lightly tap it every so often on your scrap paper so excess glitter falls off. Once it is completely covered, leave to let dry for at least an hour (may still be tacky). Then, they are ready to use! Really fun and simple. Besides, who doesn't love a little bit of glitter in their lives? I can't wait to use these! Also, thank you to my lovely boyfriend for taking these photos for me!



The next project will just add a tad of pizzazz without having to spend any extra money. You can take any color napkins you may have and just lightly stamp a cute festive image on it. I have examples of a party hat and more as you can see. Really easy way to carry your theme without spending more money.


Along side your napkins you can put out all sorts of snacks. Just search for some on Pinterest. If you're not looking to feed your guests a whole meal, but rather just snacks, try and find some festive bowls or some candies wrapped in the colors of your party. This will really add a nice touch! :)

Ping Pong Balls White - 12ct Pack

So for our next project, you'll want to keep your scraps from your banner. You will also need scissors, tape, glue, pencil, cardboard, and a piece of cardstock. You may also want a template and a frame. For more details on how to complete this project, please check out my video at the end of this post. Once you have all of your supplies gathered, start to think about what you want your cut out art to be. I chose mine to be a heart.

Now, onto today's topic...I've decided that this November I'm going to participate in Thankful Thursdays (an idea from my own mind) and I want you to join in with me! Every Thursday, I'll be posting something that I'm thankful for and a way to show that thanks (whether it be a card, gift or something else!). It's really the simple and random acts of kindness that really make the world go round, so let's do this thing together! I was inspired to do this by Jennifer McGuire and her #ShareHandmadeKindness campaign.



Today's project is really inexpensive and easy! All you will need are some supplies from your stash and an optional pre-made banner (you can see what I pulled out below). I bought my banner at the dollar spot at Target (so hurry and get yours too, did I mention it's chalkboard!?!). Initially, I thought I was going to make a more elaborate 'Thankful' banner, but once I started, I loved my simplistic idea.

Our first project is a quick and easy party decor printable that will make all of your friends think you put a lot of work in (when you really didn't)! I'm a huge fan of canva.com and when I logged in the other day they had soooo many cute graphics for Halloween! You're more than willing to use one of their free pre-made designs or you can customize your own just as easily. For those of you who may not know, Canva is a website (comparable to PicMonkey) where you can use graphics and texts to design your own pieces for social media, personal use, or whatever you can dream of! There are options that cost money though, so just pay attention and stick to the free ones ;).



Here's what I made using canva. You'll see these sort of labels in stores for up to $6! Making your own funny warning labels of vampire fangs, bat wings, and more to match what you're serving at your party.



The next project I want to share with you is this trio of 3" x 3" cutesy Halloween cards. These would be perfect on a cute little Halloween treat for a co-worker or a friend, whatever you're giving, add this cute and easy card to put it over the top!



My favorite part of this entire project was finally being able to get to use my Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher (eek!)! To start off this adorable trio you'll want some Halloween paper and stamps! Mine feature some kraft cardstock, DCWV Bewitched stack, some foam adhesive, and some washi tape for extra flare.


In order to make a 3x3 card you'll need to cut your cardstock to 3" x 6" then fold it in half. After you have your base ready, your creative opportunities are endless. I used a combo of stamps and paper to create some backgrounds and focal points. I used foam adhesive to accent the little pieces I cut out of the paper that said cute things. This is the perfect way to use those weird papers with all the block pieces!


Next, along the same lines as the cards, I've made some easy DIY place cards for your Halloween dinner party. Wouldn't a murder mystery party on Halloween be so much fun?! I've always wanted to do one.



You can make these as big or as small as you want. I'm actually using mine for place cards for the different types of food. I added stitching details with a marker (make sure you're using a ruler to keep your line straight!).

Last, but certainly not least, I'm sharing with you two different party favor box ideas! They both have the same base, but they are slight variations depending on what you're using them for.



My first tip is to use double sided paper, but also make sure it doesn't have a certain orientation (like portrait or landscape because it's easy to mess it up) this will give the inside of your favor box a little pop without doing any more work!


For the kids, I created a really cute vampire gift box idea! Using this tutorial I made the black box, then added my own little twist. I measured the box and cut out a 1/4" inch strip the width I needed. Then, I cut out jagged teeth for my little vampire. Attaching the googly eyes is the final step (for a more silly look, choose two different sized eyes)!


My alternative box features some cute stamps that I really wanted to use. I stamped them then fussy cut them out and attached them with foam adhesive to the lid of the box. I added a little bit of bling for another dimension of texture.
