DIY: Wooden Plaque Art

April 18, 2014

Hello everyone! Today I have another DIY to share with you! This one was inspired by the one and only Bethanny Mota on YouTube! These DIY Art Plaques are really inexpensive and perfect for a dorm room!

The supplies you'll need include: A wooden plaque (I bought mine at Walmart for $4), various stickers, at least two different colors of paint, and at least one paint brush (I chose foam because they're the cheapest)!

To get started I painted the wood in a base coat of white. In addition you should also paint over top the white the color you want your letters (in this case I wanted mine white)

Now I picked out my quote and picked out the font I wanted and placed them on the plaque to my designated liking.

After making sure the stickers were somewhat firmly in place, I started to sponge on my second paint color, which happened to be a dusty rose/terracotta. I used a sponging technique to give my plaque a distressed look, however painting on smoothly is also another technique. I think crackle paint would look brilliant on one of these pieces.

And Tada! All done! This DIY makes a great present too! Hope you guys will try it out and check back soon :)
