DIY Keepsake Jar // Water-less Snow Globe
September 17, 2015
The mason jars are still all the rage in the DIY world (as I'm sure many of you know), so here's my take on a cute gift! These water-less snow globe keepsakes are bound to be a hit for a loved one in your life! (Mine happen to be Christmas presents that I made for my parents, but they can really work for any occasion or person).
I really love how customizable these are. You can get any size mason jar and any thing to put in it. Plus, unlike many snow globes this one is water-less and effortless!

Here are the supplies I used: mason jars, buffalo snow, hot glue gun, and something to put inside your jar! I decided to make these into Christmas presents so I have a cute Christmas tree for my mom and a dog and boy for my dad.
The first step you'll want to do is take the lid off of your mason jar and hot glue it together.
Once you've glued on the seal to the ring, you'll want to attach your decoration. I realized after purchasing my little figurine that it was too wide for the opening of the jar...but, I came up with a brilliant solution! I took a water bottle cap and used that to elevate my figurine so it would fit in to the jar more comfortably.
Now, the next step is to be sure to measure (estimate) about how much snow you should put in the bottom of your mason jar. I out my figurine next to it so I could see when it would be approximately the right height for snow.
Then, the last step is to screw on the lid! Be very, very careful as my figurine did fall of the first time, but it didn't break so no need to worry folks!
Ta-da! A beautiful and sentimental gift you can make for anyone for anything!
I'm liking the look of the tree because it is so tall, but it's totally up to you!
I hope you enjoyed this DIY and if you did be sure to head to my YouTube channel and subscribe for more! Have you started thinking about Christmas yet? I heard this morning on GMA that about 32% of Americans are done with Christmas shopping with just over 100 days to go! Holy crap!
Leave me some love in the comments!
