Be Happy, Be Bright, Be You // Card Creations

March 21, 2017

Hello everyone! It feels good to be back blogging again! I haven't blogged in over a week since I took a little bit of vacation, but you probably didn't notice since I scheduled everything in advanced. The good news is the vacation was great and I tried to vlog it! So, there will be a special little video coming to my channel soon (maybe a couple of videos, I'm still not sure). The bad news is that it is over, but alas, there will be more vacation planning in the future. For now, I have made a cute card to share with you all!

I rarely do portrait oriented cards, but this one worked with the sentiment beautifully. I started with heavy weight 110 lb. white cardstock cut at 4 1/4" x 11" and scored at 5 1/2". I wanted a kraft cardstock background with a small border of white. I cut the kraft cardstock down to 5 1/2" x 4". I used my Colorbox dark brown ink and this lovely stamp that my boyfriend bought me for Valentine's Day (it's from Michael's) to create a fun pattern.

I know that I have a ribbon problem. I don't use ribbon nearly enough, so I am determined to start using on most of my cards and other projects. If you have any tips or techniques using ribbon please let me know in the comments below. I'm always looking for new and fun ideas. The ribbon I used on this card is part of a set from Michael's. I used the same ink to stamp this fun sentiment from Kaiser Craft. It's perfect for so many occasions!

To add a little bit more color, I used these red gems from Darice. They add some sparkled and shine without too much bulk for mailing! I hope you enjoyed this easy peasy card. It was super fun to make! Thanks for stopping by!
