VIDEO: Congratulations Z Fold Card // Card Fold Tutorial
July 26, 2018
Hello crafty people! I am finally back with another card tutorial! I've had a ton of requests to continue my card making and since I love it, I figured we should give it another go. Now, card making videos are completely different than making scrapbooking videos. There are so many more details and steps to edit, zoom in on, speed up, slow down and it takes me quite a bit longer to make and edit these. I think I will start doing multiple card examples for one technique and show you how to make one of the cards as an example. Let me know if that sounds ideal or if you have any other ideas, I'm always open to new things!
Today's card tutorial is super simple! We're going to make a Z-Fold Card using some gorgeous floral stamps. I know that large flowers or flower clusters are very popular in the industry, so I decided to dust off a set and use it on this card! This is the Lovely Garden Stamp Set from Stampendous and it is a red rubber cling stamp.
I started this card by stamping, heat embossing and then coloring my flowers. I used Versafine onyx black ink to get a dark stamped image. While it was still wet, I sprinkled on a little bit of the Wow! clear embossing powder. I used my trusty, dusty heat gun to set the embossing powder to get that shiny enameled look. This is a super easy way to help your watercoloring within the lines.
Then we dive right into the coloring! Below are the colors that I used from my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pen Set. I explain my coloring technique in my video above, but I simply put the color down with the pen and used my waterbrush to pull the color out and around the image.
Light Pink #26
Light Carmine #21
Olive Green #43
Mid Green #46
Lilac #83
Violet #80
Light Pink #26
Pale Pink #28

To make our card base I used 110 lb kraft cardstock. I cut it to 5 1/2" x 8 1/2". Then, I scored it at 4 1/4" and 2 1/8". In my tutorial, you can see that they fold opposite ways to give the accordion look. I used a background stamp paired with the Versamark ink to create a light background on the front panel. Then, I adhered the colored floral pieces with strong tape adhesive.
Once my flowers were in place, I created a tiny sentiment piece. I used a scrap piece of watercolor paper and used this adorable stamp from Simon Says Stamp. I put a slight angled edge and then adhered it down. To finish off the card, I used some white pearls. I hope you all found this tutorial helpful and that you get to create a Z-fold card soon! Thanks for stopping by!
