This is a similar layout to my last double page layout share. I tend to put the main title/filler card on the right side. The difference for this one from the last one is mostly the left side. I often like to try and spread my photos across multiple pockets. This time I did a fun technique of making the photos stretch all the way across. I like the way it turned out. Very simple, but the same background really helps the flow.


The top filler card uses Craft Smith patterned paper as a base. Then, I layered a piece of purple washi tape from Freckled Fawn. The "hello lovely" circle is from Kasier Craft's Finder's Keepers collection. I wanted to keep things light since the photos were very cool toned.


 This is one of my favorite title cards ever! The background paper is from Basic Grey. I love the dainty floral next to the dainty birds. The title is a little smooshed, but that's okay. The fonts that I used are from Fancy Pants, Studio 112, Webster's Pages, American Crafts, and Maggie Holmes in that order. The mixture of sizes and textured is so much fun.


The last filler card is using the same paper as the top one. I layered a simple Shimelle feather die cut on top of it. To finish is off I added some resin flowers and Fancy Pants puffy stickers. I hope you enjoyed this layout. Thanks for stopping by!

I chose two different style pocket page styles from Simple Stories. As I have said before, I find that the Simple Stories pocket pages are oversized. For example, a 3" x 4" pocket, leaves a 3" x 4" card swimming with space. While the extra space doesn't bother me, it could be annoying to others.


The left page of this spread is completely photos. I tried to get a mix of colors without overwhelming the page. All of these birds pictures on the left side were in the same room. Since they were in the same setting, they have similar lighting an backdrops which helps the eye meld them together and make it more cohesive.


This is one of my absolute favorite filler cards I have made in a while. I started by cutting a 4" x 6" card from Kaiser Craft's Finder's Keepers collection 6x6 pad. This lovely blue pastel background is great for the beautiful die cuts on top. These die cuts were a lucky find from Recollections at Michael's. They are actually from a banner kit and I simply use them as regular die cuts. I layered a simple white doily behind them for a fuller base. I made a title using an American Crafts chipboard script word and some Oriental Trading box letter stickers.


To complete this card I used some Fancy Pants puffy circles and a Studio Calico wood veneer bird. Lastly, I sprinkled gold Heidi Swapp color shine along the outskirts. I haven't been using my mists as often as I would like and this is a good start to get back in to it. The rest of this page consists of 2x2 bird pictures. I hope you enjoyed this pocket page share! I didn't need to spell out where we were and what we were doing for these photos, so instead of including filler cards, I just had a title card and a functional card which we will discuss later on. I used a stencil to create a fun pattern on the back of my title card. I used this "Explore" chipboard piece to really capture the feeling of these pages. I included a couple of other embellishments like wood veneer and phrase stickers for more interest.


The second page is more practically functional. I really love including memorabilia when I can. You'll see that in my Disney album and some of my regular scrapbooking pages too. Making memorabilia functional is also a key aspect in my crafting. For example, I had this map of the zoo that didn't fit in any of the pre-made pocket pages that I owned, so I had to tackle it from a different angle. I wanted it to be very easily accessible. This means no gluing it down or cutting up the map. Instead, I used my favorite technique, which involves pockets!



I wanted to use this portion of the bag to add some matching items from the other pocket page. I stuck with the green color scheme and included another Heidi Swapp sticker (star and geotag). I also included a baby title using Maggie Holmes puffy alphabet stickers. I used another Simple Stories phrase sticker as well.


I wanted to include a photo of how easy it is to use this pocket and pull out the map. I think it is one of the easiest ways to incorporate memorabilia on to a layout. All of the pocket page cards on this particular page are from We R Memory Keepers. I truly enjoyed working with the fun yellow and blue color scheme. It really does scream summer to me. I also enjoyed how the cards come with premade title cards. I seem to always struggle with making up titles, but I loved how this title summed up the day pretty well.


The bottom center filler card is a pungent blue. I kept this card simple, so that the color would shine. I used some grid diamond washi tape from Freckled Fawn. On top of that I layered a chipboard chat bubble from BoBunny's Modern Miss collection. Lastly, I layered an Elle's Studio cut apart piece on top of that! Layering is so much fun, but can be intimidating. I promise you that you'll love it if you just give it a chance!


My favorite clusters on this layout occur on the bottom right corner. This photo was cut down to 4x4 so there was some room for embellishing. In the top cluster of this section, I used a small doily from Wilton and a Tim Holtz tiny word sticker to create a focus. It adds a neutral quality to such a color busy layout, but still adds interest. I finished this section off with some gold pearls from BoBunny and a tiny wood veneer heart!


The title card was slightly plain before I added some decorations. The three dimensional floral sticker is from Michael's. Then, I also included a tiny word sticker from Simple Stories Carpe Diem collection and a puffy owl sticker.

 Last, but not least for this blog post is this really fun filler card I created. Although my overall color scheme of the pocket pages for this event changed, I tried to keep similar components the same, like these blue and white dots and the stars. This filler is one of my favorites! The stamp is by Elle's Studio (so cute!), sequins are from Craft Medley, the stars from Heidi Swapp and the rub-on is from American Crafts! Hello everyone! I hope you're ready because today's layout share will be a big one! Although we're taking a break from the create a kit series, I'll have some process videos up soon! In the meantime, I started this project for a layout for a design team I was applying for, so that was where this all began. Then, I just kept rolling with it and this is what happened!

There are four layouts that all go together, one traditional and then three Project Life layouts. Now, I'll dive into the details of how I made them!



After I got that part situated, I needed something else behind my photo. I proceeded to layer a fun script piece of patterned paper (from the same pad) and some kraft paper to make my photo pop. I then added the kraft letters to spell out Buffalo at the top. I thought the layout looked a little blah, so I jazzed it up with using some white paint.

I'm not sure why, but I love using paints on layouts. I think it provides a fun texture that paper can't. Do you use paint on your layouts? Let me know in the comments!


So, as I said before, The title page was for a design team call, but since I had extra time and more photos from the occasion, I decided to do some pocket pages as well. This one features a snow leopard, two lionesses, a polar bear, and a cute giraffe!


Starting at the top left, that card is a piece of paper from the same paper pad, some teal acrylic paint (watered down), a heart doily from Wilton, and a chipboard bird from Dear Lizzy. Then, the card on the right hand side is from the Becky Higgins Project Life Kraft Foil kit. I added some teal splatters and then a cluster of scraps in the top right corner.


These gold stars are from a Heidi Swapp stickers pack and I also used some Heidi Swapp stickers directly on the photos. My favorite sticker is the one that says "head in the clouds" and I put it next to the giraffe! Ha! I'm hilarious!


Our next page features two adorable baby monkeys (one eating a grape), the cutest otter, and a yawning lion. These are some of my favorite pictures from our trip. In case you are wondering, I used a Canon Rebel T3 for all of these photos. We'll start with the top right card this time which is made from the same paper pack. Then, I used a scrap of the same doily from the last page, some gold sequins, then two letters stickers (I'll go into those in the next photo). Then the card on he left side is made from some kraft cardstock.


On the top right card I also used the watered down teal paint. I realized I didn't have much of this shade of teal in my stash so I made it to keep the story cohesive. I then used my favorite Thickers which are white foam called Rockabye. On a whim I went to my dollar store and had picked up these script words and this "fun" was perfect for the color scheme! The arrow stamped in the bottom right section of this card is from Heidi Swapp and inked in Memento black.


To complete the card on the left of the layout, I used my watered down teal paint and put it along all of the edges. It really makes the card pop out at you! Now to create more layers for this filler card, I pulled out some stamp sets. The main one I used is by Hero Arts called Birds, Trees, Messages & More. I used this large floral branch stamp and the single flower stamp to give some stark contrast beneath the Dear Lizzy floral chipboard piece. I also stamped another Heidi Swapp stamp and added a teal heart.


Are you guys tired yet?! I sure hope not! For the last page I just focused on these wonderful photos I had of the gorillas (yes, I know I wrote "monkey", but they're gorillas! I just didn't have enough letter stickers or room to spell gorilla). We'll skip the top left card for now, as I address it in the next photo, but in the middle row, the first card is from a cut apart from the Dear Lizzy Day Dreamer paper pack. I thought the nice light blue was a nice touch to all of the darker tones. Next, I made the middle filler card from the same Crate Paper pad and some kraft. I used letter stickers from Studio 112 and Sticko. Then, the last filler card in the middle row is from Theresa Collins. Last, but not least (well it might be least in my book, because I don't love the way it turned out...), I used my scraps from the prevous pages to create this filler card. The stamp is from Heidi Swapp again and I once again used the teal paint around the edges.
