I am so excited for today's post! In case you didn't know, I had introduced a new video series to my channel about how to create a kit from your stash. Today, I'm sharing my first layout made with that kit! I am in love with the way this layout turned out.
This photo is a picture of my best friends and I at our Senior Dinner Dance. This was just one of the photos from the photo booth, but definitely my favorite by far. My homemade kit just so happened to pick up on the colors in our dresses, so it was perfect! Check out my entire process on making this layout down below!

I know that it doesn't get picked up well in the full picture, but this is a mixed media layout in my book! If you didn't watch the video, I got very, very messy. I did find the paint and gesso very fun to play with though.
The bold black and white text background balances out the delicate pink pieces scattered throughout the layout. Then, the gold script adds a whimsical and fun feel and plays along with the photo. Little other color splashes keep your eye moving across the page.
I actually added a lot of dimension and texture to this page (more than I normally do anyway). I loved working with the stencil, chipboard pieces, and adding foam for more dimension.
Clusters are key for helping the eye move around the page. If you haven't heard of visual triangles, you've got to look it up! The idea behind it is that if you have key elements in a triangle around your piece of art, it will keep the viewers eye focused and moving around your piece with an easy flow.
This little corner is my favorite cluster on this page. Although the pinks don't exactly match, they look great together! Also, don't mind my terrible hand cutting of that poor little clipboard. You may notice that little white rub-on in the top of this cluster. I didn't really expect it to be easily visible and I think white on white rub-ons may become a new trend! Well, if rub-ons are still a trend.
That pretty much sums up this layout for me! I hope you all enjoyed my first process video from this kit! I had a blast making this layout and absolutely love the way it turned out! Thank you for stopping by!
