VIDEO: Our Outtakes // 12x12 Using your Scraps #1!
April 09, 2016Hello everyone! Welcome back to the blog, or if you're new here, hello! I've got a very fun and different type of project for you today. Today, I conquered some scraps (and by some I mean only like one piece of 6x6 paper)! I want to share with you some unique and fun ways to use your scraps! Because let's face it, we all have way too many scraps.
Today's layout features 3 4x6 photos which is also a lot of photos on one page for me (hence the lack of paper usage). I hope you enjoy my process video and I'll also have product links, close ups, and some writing below!
Wasn't that a fun way to use your scraps! Of course this is applicable to all sorts of patterned papers. For instance, you could cut out the flowers on a piece of floral paper or the circles of a polka dot. These are only a few examples of what you can do with scraps! I'm hoping to expand upon this series with future layouts. Let me know if you guys would want to see more posts and videos like this!
So, as I have said in the video, most of these papers and elements are from Dear Lizzy lines, specifically the 5th and Frolic collection. Although, you should feel free to mix your scraps that are in the same color families to give more dimension to your layout and use up those scraps!
I really liked how each of the "polaroids" was a perfect place to make a little cluster. I'm in love with this wood veneer camera that I picked up at Tuesday Morning. It came in a pack with some other fun shapes as well.
Another example of a fun cluster that I made on one of the cut outs. As you can see, clusters don't have to be super fancy to give the effect. You just have to place them and weight them evenly. Like how the camera in the top left evenly weighs in with the typewriter on the bottom right. Then, I add some smaller clusters throughout for more interest.
