I created another small cluster in the bottom left of the photo cluster. I added this little flair from Humble and Create that says 'sleep in'. I paired another resin flower in to this cluster to give more color to this corner of the page. I added a doodle border to the entire layout to make it feel more complete.

Happy Saturday friends! I am back with another process video! I must say that it feels great to finally get this project done. I loved making this project, but when I realized that the camera didn't capture even a third of my process, I became so upset. Some people may not know how much time and effort goes into creating, editing, and publishing YouTube content, but it's quite a lot. I put in about an hours worth of work of just creating the layout and most of that footage was gone. This is why I tried to salvage this layout by doing a live video for the remainder of it. I hope you enjoy and sorry for this odd set up!


This layout features a lot of papers from the Simple Stories Life in Color collection. I also use a variety of patterns from my 6x6 paper pads. This is a really great layout style for photos that show movement or tell a story. Mine are more fun photos, but whatever works! Enjoy this process/layout share video!


This layout came together rather quickly despite all of the layering. I wanted to create a nice montage of these photos since they were taken consecutively, I wanted to keep them in order. A linear line keeps the photos in order and the eye processes them in that order. I talk a little bit about this in the process video, but not too much, so I wanted to be sure to address it here as well!

My title brings out the teal color that is in the floral background paper. While the teal in the pattern is not an exact shade match, it is the same color family and why it works so well on this layout. I paired the title with some other splashes of color to using enamel dots in order to enhance the coordination with the patterned paper. I'd like to point out that my embellishments are not exact matches. I find a lot of creative satisfaction by mixing and matching embellishments and papers like this layout. Balance on a layout is key, but I even find it hard sometimes what to determine as balanced or unbalanced. I tend to use color as a parameter to help see if there is balance a layout. Some other determining factors can include embellishments, textures, and shapes. My clusters start by an inspiration of content or color. The cluster in the photo below started by noticing a need for more teal so I started by using a Studio Calico sticker. I then wanted texture and dimension, but also realizing the need for more color. The addition of the stickers, resin flowers, and enamel dots settled all of the color and texture needs (in my personal opinion).


With larger clusters like the one below, one large piece supported by varying sizes of smaller embellishments tends to be the best route. You don't want pieces within your cluster fighting for attention. The tag is my main component and the items like the flair, flowers, and stickers help support it.

Hello friends! Things have been very hectic these past few weeks, but I am thankful that I can juts keep crafting and creating to relieve some stress. This layout is very unique because it is from our first Disney Cruise, but it's also the only layout I have done for this trip. I have a lot (and I mean a lot) of travel albums to get through, but slowly and surely I'm working on them here and there. I started with this fun blue background paper which is so thin and flimsy that I must've purchased it in my early scrapbooking days. Can you tell I'm a hoarder ;). I matted both of my photos of my dad and myself on some white cardstock to add some contrast.


I used a piece of Prima paper from their 6x6 paper pad Retrospective to add a strip across the background. I paired this with a strip of Freckled Fawn washi tape with a fun grid pattern. I created a small cluster to the left of the photo using an Elle's Studio die cut piece. Then, to add more red, I added some Pretty Little Studio star stickers.


Lastly, at the bottom side of my photo cluster I layered a Teresa Collins cut out and a doily to add more organic shapes to the layout. On top of that I included the simple title of 6094 which was our stateroom number. I hope you enjoyed this throwback layout! Thanks for stopping by!

The traditional layout starts with some basic white cardstock. I used two papers from the Rooted Love collection to create a base point for my title and photos. One is a branch patterned paper and the other is a diamond pattern. You'll see that I incorporate more of the diamond patterned paper on the opposite page. Take a look at my process video for more information.

The Wild Whisper sequins I used on this layout are the perfect mix for all of my nature inspired layouts! They're also great for baby layouts, night layouts, and so much more. I dabbled a few of those in my clusters. This cluster in particular also includes a wood veneer word from Jillibean Soup.


I also included a cluster to the right of my photo. It utilizes a BoBunny chipboard swirl as well as some twine from my stash. I really love this mini flair that I included from The Crafty Pocket. You can also see more of the Wild Whisper sequins in this cluster here too.


I really loved how these collections easily flowed together and mixing and matching the pocket cards with the 12x12 papers was fun too! I gave both my photo and title card a boost with some foam sheets. This is an easy way to add dimension. I added a doily to add a light touch to these woodsy elements.


The adventure card pack from Wild Whisper is really featured on the matching pocket page. I used both wood sliced patterned cards on this layout to help the flow of the right side. I also brought in more of the same shades of colored cardstock from the traditional layout to help with continuity. The tiny star sequins are lovely matched with these elements as well.


One of my favorite cards from the Adventure card collection pack is this card here with a lovely quote. To match the other side, I used some foam under this piece as well. Since I didn't have the exact pocket sizes I wanted for this layout, I taped two of the Wild Whisper cards together to make a 4x6 size instead.

When thinking about making a double page spread, I first start with a basic background. This one happens to be white cardstock for both sides, but you could also use colored cardstock or even patterned paper. I find that having the same background paper for both sides helps me greatly. I hope you enjoy the process video for this fun tic-tac-toe challenge! Be sure to check out everyone else's videos as well.



So, as you can tell, for my tic-tac-toe I decided to use flair, wood veneer, and washi tape. You can see the full tic-tac-toe board in my video in case you want to play along! Now, before we really dive in, this is a warning that there are a LOT of photos coming at you. I will keep the in between text short so you can get all of the details that you need.


We're starting in the top left corner and looking at some details! I have used a Pretty Little Studio die cut word to bring out the green in the photos. As per the tic-tac-tie board, I also placed an arrow wood veneer. Whenever I put arrows on a layout, I want to be sure that they aren't pointing off of the page and that they are pointing to something I want the viewer to go to. In this case, it points to my little elephant!


This next cluster is so cute! I've been meaning to use this little elephant stamp. I picked him up at Michael's the other week for .50. I stamped him and then lightly colored him using some of my watercolor pencils. As you can see, he is atop of the navy and floral washi tape. The elephant is also on top of a Doodlebug doily in the color poolside. I like to keep my clusters simple, but intense with texture. I also paired another Pretty Little Studio diecut heart, a tiny wood veneer heart, and some sequins. All of these items have a different height, size, color, and texture which is a field day for my eyeballs.


This cluster I consider to be the bridge between my pages. It uses a Project Life card that I received in a RAK. I like how the bright yellow pops on the page. On top of that, I layered a white tag with some twine, a Heidi Swapp chipboard glitter circle, a Project Life Kiwi Edition flair, and an asterisk wood veneer. Again, I love working with texture. Here you can see the main texture comes from the glitter piece.


The last cluster I created is in the bottom right of the second layout. I used some more of the Pretty Little Studio diecuts from their Woodland collection. I also used a little sticker from Simple Stories. I had to add a little more splash of summer elements, so I found this diecut in the same Pebbles pack and I put it in this cluster. Lastly, I decorated the entire page with some colorful sequins from a RAK. I hope you all enjoyed this fun layout and be sure to hop along for the rest of the Tic Tac Toe challenge! All of the patterned papers I used for this layout are from the DCWV Spring Stack. It has loads of colorful designs that can be used for all types of stories. I wanted to capture the whimsical and light feel of these two playing in the yard, so I kept it simple. I cut two of the photos to 4x4 and then left the other as 4x6. To give some depth to the page I added foam adhesive under the center photo. This layout would be great for photos you take in a consecutive manner.


I used some really old Heidi Swapp orange home themed stickers to bring in more pops of color. These help the background paper's tiny bit of orange pop as well. The title uses one of those stickers as well as some Recollections acrylic letters to write out "fun".


I always like to use tags to create hidden journaling spots. The tag is from Recollections' spring collection. This layout is clean and simple, but was easy and goes along with the story perfectly. I hope you enjoyed and thank you so much for stopping by!

My goal for this layout was to create shaker windows that worked with the entire layout. Little did I know, that this would be quite difficult! I decided that since punches are the easiest way for me to create shaker windows, that it would be nice to share it with you! So, grab your favorite punches, some foam sheets, and your sequins! Let's jump right in!



I hope that video tutorial made sense. It's easier to watch the technique sometimes over reading about it and then attempting to replicate it. I started this layout by picking out my background paper. I have had this DCWV polka dot paper for at least five years, it was time it finally stopped collecting dust! I used it's color scheme to help select my photos and then the rest of the elements I eventually used. My dark green patterned paper is from Kathy Davis' Journey 6x6 paper pad. Originally, this was going to be a 6x6 Fix series layout, but it took a different direction.


My second favorite portion of this layout (only because the shaker windows are my absolute favorite) is the title cluster! The whimsical feeling of the title die cut mixed with the Wilton doily, the teal tag from Recollections, and the frame die cut from Pink Paislee's Citrus Bliss is so perfect! I added a few more details including a wood veneer star from Studio Calico and some Tim Holtz tiny phrase stickers. If I was going to change anything about this layout, it would probably be to add a few sequins around the title area for a touch more pizzazz.


There were quite a few blemishes on the shaker window area (that you can see in the video) that needed some covering up. I covered the seam between the two piece of paper by using a Pretty Little Studio die cut word and another Studio Calico wood veneer. The die cut is perfect because it helps bring the navy from the title piece over to the other side of the layout, creating a balance.


Here are a couple tips that could help your shaker windows go a little more smoothly. One, make more pencil marks! I wish I would've been more careful and lighter with my markings, but I definitely didn't have enough because everything turned out a touch wonky. However, it wasn't ruined. Be lenient with yourself. If it isn't perfectly straight (like mine) use something to cover it up instead of throwing all of your hard work away. Two, get thicker foam, but be warned. A few of my punches could barely cut the cheap foam I had, let alone if I had a thicker piece of it. Use thicker foam if you can so you can add more shaker bits, otherwise you can always double it up!


My shaker bits are from a variety of places. I used some Kat Scrappiness, Darice, and DoCraft to create a custom sequin mixture! In some of my photos (like the one above) you'll be able to see that the foam peaks out. To remedy this, you could use white foam, so it is less noticeable, or use a foam that closely matches the color of your top patterned paper. I choose something that was in my color scheme at the very least.

The first page doesn't contain any memorabilia, but I thought you would all still love to see a process on this smaller scale. I have never worked with this 4x6 sized page protector, but I kind of loved it, but don't tell my 12x12 ;). I included three photos of signs we saw on our road trip and then three filler cards.


This little square may just be my absolute favorite. I have been dying to use this stencil from Echo Park that says adventure and I finally found the perfect use for it! I mixed my liquitex modeling paste with some mustard yellow acrylic paint to get this perfect color to match my color scheme. I used some pop dots to elevate this Heidi Swapp travel sticker. All of the cardstock used on these layouts is from DCWV's jewel tone paper stack.


I think it's safe to say that I have become addicted to this Heidi Swapp sticker booklet that I picked up from Michael's a few months back. I decorated most of the photos with little bits from the pack including these tiny word stickers! On the right photo I also punched a small heart out of some green cardstock using my Paper Studio punch.


The bottom two sections of this page are also really fun. On the left, I cut an October Afternoon die cut piece from the Cakewalk collection to create a small cluster. I used some enamel dots all across the page. The blues and greens are Paper Studio brand and the yellow ones are from Freckled Fawn. The right square is DCWV cardstock again, but I made this one into a journaling card. I used an October Afternoon label sticker and a Sassafras flower embellishment on this card. To add more detail, I used my fine tip black marker to create a doodled border around the edges.


The last pocket that I'll be focusing on for this page is what I would consider the color palate trend setter. The patterned paper here is how I determined my color palate. I pulled from all of the colors in this paper to help make the page cohesive. I used a super old chipboard tag and covered it with some cardstock. Then, I used more of the Heidi Swapp stickers to dress it up!



I cut down my receipt to the 2x2 size of the pocket. I knew that I wanted to have room for embellishments on it as well. I used an Elle's Studio banner piece to give some ground for my pieces. I decided that instead of journaling on this pocket, I would do it elsewhere. I used some new stamps from the Sweet Stamp Shop to describe the emotion of going to IKEA. Plus, theses little rams are super cute!


Since there was a lot of writing in the top right, I decided the left would be simple. I used some paper from My Mind's Eye again to create a background. Then, I used another Heidi Swapp sticker from the travel booklet. I also pulled out some super old American Crafts remarks sticker books and found this stitching sticker that I cut in half to use on the top and bottom of the sticker piece. I added another doodled border around the edge of this card.


The last two sections are pretty simple. On the left, I used more My Minds Eye paper, a flower paper punch, and a Freckled Fawn flair piece. On the right, I used more DCWV cardstock, some Michael's washi tape, and a die cut piece from a Shimelle collection. That's it for this double page tutorial incorporating memorabilia! DCWV Cardstock Stack Jewels, 58 sheets of 12 inch x 12 inch textured cardstock

As I have said in earlier posts this year and the end of last, I am bringing a whole lot more content in the form of videos. I would love to be able to post more than one a week, but I also know that two a week would be really hard for me when school starts again. So, while I'm still on break I plan on trying to film as many videos as possible to give you all what you like to see most! With that being said, I have also developed a couple of new series I'll be extending or introducing to you over these next few weeks and over the course of the year. I hope you'll enjoy all of these new series and please let me know what you think. Today, I'll be introducing a new series called Stretch Your Stash which focuses on reinventing things in your stash in new ways to become inspired again.


For this round of Stretch Your Stash we are focusing on buttons! As you'll see in the process video below, I have a lot of buttons, so I decided to stretch their use and make them the primary focus (besides the photos) of the layout. This took a really long time, but it was very therapeutic to complete! I point out a few things during the process video that I wish I had done differently, so learn from my mistakes, and plan ahead, haha. Enjoy this process video and I'll share more tips and details below!



I tried to cut out a lot of the boring work out of the video, so hopefully it wasn't too unbearably long. I think that this would be a great series for you all to play along, so I am extending my invitation for you to dive into your buttons and make them a starring role on your page. If you do participate, please tag me where you post it, I would love to see!


I personally think that buttons are so cute. I love to use them when I can remember to, but I usually only use a maximum of about 3, so this idea is a great way to use up loads of buttons at once. There are so many different shapes that would work for this technique including stars, circles, letters, clouds, and hexagons. I also love the flexibility on color ranges from rainbows to neutrals it is totally customizable. I wanted my layout to have some more pizzazz, so I used the packaging technique with my Recollections blue mist and my Tim Holtz distress stain spray in coral to give a watercolor look.


My photos are pretty plain color wise on this layout and I keep it clean by only layering some pink cardstock behind the photos. I wanted few embellishments since this layout already screams embellished. I used a Doodlebug Designs mini doily on the top left and bottom right of the photos. There's also a discrete fish paper clip, a vine die cut from Sizzix, and some crochet thread all tucked in.


It's the little details that make the true impact of these layouts. This was really outside of my comfort zone, but it sure was fun. If you ever had the chance to meet my lovely cat, you would realize that he is not the most masculine cat. He is very skiddish and loves cuddles. In order to honor his personality, I decided to use these dimensional flower stickers from Michael's to give it a dainty feel. In this particular cluster, I incorporated an arrow die cut from Pretty Little Studio's Oakley Avenue collection. There's also a bundle of thread underneath the sticker element to add more texture. The tiny number stickers are from Tim Holtz.


Around the smaller photo, I did another floral sticker element. I built this cluster out a little bit more, since it was a smaller photo. I used another piece from the Oakley Avenue (leaf), a Michael's ticket die cut, a Project Life wood veneer, and a Tim Holtz label sticker. There's some more thread bundled underneath and some silver pearls.


To incorporate another pop of yellow, I snuck this tiny diagonal striped pocket under my photo. I couldn't leave it alone, so I grabbed an Elle's Studio sticker that says "I heart you" and a puffy cat sticker. I love these tiny cat stickers!
