Ted's Basket // 12x12 Layout Share
December 29, 2016
Hi there everyone! I hope you're enjoying the very last bit of 2016! I know that there seems to be quite a bit of negativity towards the end of this year, but I hope that this will give you a little pick me up and you can find a little more positivity through your craft. This layout is about my darling cat who is in love with baskets. I don't know what it is about them, but their his favorite, specifically the one pictured here.
This background paper is fairly busy, so I kept it simple. The background paper is from Basic Grey and their Fact & Fiction collection. I really wanted to try something new with this layout, so I decided to do this split photo layout. One photo is 4" x 4" and the other one is 4" x 6". They are both matted on some plain white cardstock to help them pop.
The title for this layout is made from some foam American Crafts Thickers that are in this lovely gray color. I love how bold the title is and how it helps keep balance. If the alphabet were anything besides foam, I think that it would've been too harsh for this page. So, keep the material of the title in mind when picking out which stickers to use.
If you ever had the chance to meet my lovely cat, you would realize that he is not the most masculine cat. He is very skiddish and loves cuddles. In order to honor his personality, I decided to use these dimensional flower stickers from Michael's to give it a dainty feel. In this particular cluster, I incorporated an arrow die cut from Pretty Little Studio's Oakley Avenue collection. There's also a bundle of thread underneath the sticker element to add more texture. The tiny number stickers are from Tim Holtz.
Around the smaller photo, I did another floral sticker element. I built this cluster out a little bit more, since it was a smaller photo. I used another piece from the Oakley Avenue (leaf), a Michael's ticket die cut, a Project Life wood veneer, and a Tim Holtz label sticker. There's some more thread bundled underneath and some silver pearls.
To incorporate another pop of yellow, I snuck this tiny diagonal striped pocket under my photo. I couldn't leave it alone, so I grabbed an Elle's Studio sticker that says "I heart you" and a puffy cat sticker. I love these tiny cat stickers! I hope you are all inspired and that your spirits are a little more lifted! Thanks for stopping by!
