VIDEO: The Great Escape Room // Pocket Page Process
July 30, 2016
Hello lovelies! I hope you're all doing well. Today I'm sharing a pocket page process video using the 4 6x6 square page protector. I've heard that a lot of people dislike this style protector, but I love it! What's your favorite style protector? I have so many favorites I don't think I could pick just one. Here's my pocket page spread. I hope you like it!
This was so fun to put together (as are most of my layouts), but I just loved the story with these photos. In the overview of my layout, you'll see that I haven't filled in the journaling yet, but don't worry I did! I hope you all enjoy the process of this pocket page spread. I'll have product details at the end of this post.
Wasn't that a fun process?! I hope you are all loving seeing my cats make appearances. They want to be famous. Now we'll dive into some more details about the experience and the project!
My boyfriend happened to win a ticket to a local Escape Room. These are facilities where you get "locked" in a room and have to find clues and figure out riddles to get out. This might sound fairly easy, but it was hard. It was also super fun! I started off this layout by using a piece of paper from the Basic Grey line called Max and Whiskers I think....(maybe not called that). I cut it into fourths so that it would fit into my pocket page slots.
For most of the accent and layering papers I used a pretty old DCWV mat stack called Tradewinds. In the video you'll see me kinda work on one square section at a time. I find that I tend to change the way I work on pocket pages. Sometimes I jump around and other times I know exactly the look I am going for. How do you work on your pocket pages? I added some fun label stickers from My Mind's Eye, Jot, and some tiny word stickers from Simple Stories' Carpe Diem.
I know that I love adding small details to my pages, but sometimes the last pocket gets the short end of the stick. In my video you'll see that this is the last pocket that I finish and it's definitely my least favorite. I couldn't tell you exactly why, but it's not my fav.
Some of my other little fun tidbits on this layout include some metal tabs from Making Memories, some gems from Jolee's Boutique, and an enamel camera. I also wanted to mention how I used supplementary titles instead of a main title on this layout. In two of the photos, it has the exact words I would probably use for a title (The Great Escape Room). So, I found it quite redundant to use my letter stickers to spell that, so instead I made smaller titles.
Well that's it for this pocket page process! I hope you all enjoyed it. I'll have some product details down below as well. Thank you so much for stopping by and I'll see you again soon!
