February Favorites // Crafting, home, & more!

March 03, 2016

Happy first week of March! May this month bring you some extra luck into your life. I feel like February flew by so fast, even with the extra day we had. We've got a fun post today featuring my favorite things! I was almost planning on doing this for my video this week, but since I tend to ramble on in my videos, I figured it would be best if I just typed it all out. I'll be sharing with you my favorites in some different categories, but feel free to scroll to whatever category interests you most.

Crafting:

Dear Lizzy 5th & Frolic 6x6 Paper Pad

No matter what layout I seem to be working on I always seem to spot the 5th & Frolic paper pad and use it! It's craziness, but maybe that will be the first 6x6 paper pad I ever complete!

Cork Embellishments - Oriental Trading

I placed an order with Oriental Trading a few weeks back as you saw in this haul video and I decided to add these little cork stickers to my cart and let me tell you, they are the best! I can do so many different things with them since they come in so many different shapes. I especially love cutting them in half and getting twice the use out of them!

Border punches

I feel like more recently, in videos at least, that people are neglecting all of their border punches. They arre so easy to use and add such a nice touch to so many projects. I especially love my scalloped border punch by Fiskars and my lattice border punch by EK Success.

Clustering

Clustering is so popular in all off the scrapbooking world and it is also really fun. I love mixing and matching embellishments so they look pleasant on a page. It's really fun when you use stuff all out of your stash and not from a kit because it's basically like you put a mini kit together for that one little section. Ah, it's so relaxing to cluster.

Home:

Candle

I've been wanting a new candle ever since my one from the dollar store ran out. I decided that I wanted to invest in a larger candle this time around and of course we went to Target to find one. I took a whiff of each candle that they had at least three times trying to decided which $5 candle would win over my heart. I decided on the Mandarin Berry candle by Home Essentials (I think). It's a moderately fruity scent, but it is also very fresh. Then, for Valentine's Day my boyfriend also got me a 3-piece matching mini candle set in the same scent by accident! He thought he had a different one, but alas, he did not. So, now I have four candles to get through! Yay!

Heated blanket

The best thing besides getting a snow day in college is being able to cuddle up with your favorite person and with a heated blanket! Mine is by the brand Sunbeam and it's perfect. I'm sure other brands work well too, so don't worry about that too much. Just focus on quality cuddles with your boyfriend, or cat, or laptop.

Tangled Soundtrack

Basically every Disney song is my favorite song. I'm actually a huge Disney fanatic in real life (not so much on here really). Tangled is currently my favorite Disney animated movie and I love to listen to all of the songs. I love the reprises and the music without any lyrics. It's beautiful. So, treat your ears and look it up on YouTube, just kidding, I've already done that for you!

Beauty:

Mascara

My current favorite mascara is called Super Drama by Avon. I'm not sure if they sell this anymore, but try it if it's still available! It's not waterproof, but I really don't like wearing waterproof mascara, so that's a win for this one. I also love that it's in a purple tube.

Lotion

I love using the Bath & Body Works brand lotions. My favorite scent that I used in February is Love in Paris. I don't know if they sell it anymore, but they definitely at the very least redesigned the packaging. I love how long the large bottles last too!

Not Your Mother's Dry Shampoo

I don't like taking showers in the winter because it always makes me shiver once I get out. Although I do shower on a regular basis, if I don't want to shower that morning and let my hair freeze I will just whip out this amazing dry shampoo to give my hair some life again. It's also quite the time saver if you're running late!

Random:

Snow Days

This February I got to have a snow day! We got over a foot of snow in the course of one day and my college decided to close. My friend said she even saw a mini-plow get stuck! Let's just say it was one for the weather books!

I hope you all enjoyed this fun and sort of different type of post. More crafty posts coming soon, I promise! Thanks for stopping by :)!
