VIDEO: Pretty Monumental // 12x12 layout process video
March 05, 2016
Happy weekend everyone! I hope you have lots of time to craft! Today I have a process video to share with you! This is the last photo from Niagara Falls I have printed (thank goodness). So, that's completely done, woohoo! This layout was kind of a different one for me. In the process video, you'll see how I went a little out of the box on this layout by drawing inspiration from several layouts I've seen that use a drawn circle to add interest.
All product links (that I can find) will be listed at the end of this post! Let's jump in to the project details! The background paper is from an old Basic Grey collection that I scored on clearance from Joann's. It's the Fact & Fiction collection and I've also used another thing from that collection on this layout which is that piece that says telegram on it. That orange die cut is what started the orange, yellow, and kraft theme for this layout and it worked out beautifully in my opinion. The orange layers are all from Studio Calico's Hey Day which has beautiful oranges in it.
The die-cut that inspired this title is from the Shimelle die-cut pack (that I use ALL the time). Then, the flower peaking out from behind the ticket is from Studio 112. The little tid bits that finish off the cluster included some Martha Stewart butterfly punch outs, a heart stamp by Hampton Arts in Memento black ink, and some gems from my stash.
The bottom left cluster is mostly made of stamps and if you're wondering how I did the giant circle (in pen) then you'll just have to watch my process video ;)! The star and check box list stamps are both from Heidi Swapp. The heart is the same as the earlier one and the "Today we..." is from my Dear Lizzy roller stamp. As you can see I decided to add all of the things we did at Niagara Falls onto this layout. I thought it would be a cute end page to that section of my Summer album.
This top cluster I really fiddled around with in the video. Originally it was in the bottom right and then I ended up putting the title there. This cluster is made up from some kraft cardstock punched using my EK Success ticket punch, which also punched out the yellow tag you see there. The Martha Stewart butterflies are punch from some paper that was in my stash. Then I used another stamp from Heidi Swapp (but a different set) that says "the BIG day" which I thought was cute.
Last, but not least is this final mini-cluster in the top right. This is made out of things that I've already mentioned, so be sure to watch the process video below! Like, comment, subscribe, follow, ask questions, show the love people! Thanks for stopping by!
