I'm featuring three different ways to dress up your plain old pinecones in unique ways! Some are more time consuming and messier than others, but all yield great results. These techniques all revolve around a snowy pinecone look. I hope you enjoy this video tutorial and if you have any questions please let me know!

If I had to pick my favorite technique for spicing up pinecones, it would have to be the one using fake snow! I think it adds a really fun texture and it captures the light beautifully. I also like the idea of filling a whole vase full of snow dusted pinecones. It would make a beautiful center piece! Plus, if you use the cinnamon scented ones you'll have an amazing smelling room.

Once all of my pinecones were decorated, I started to put together the center piece. There are so many different ways you could put these pinecones to use. I thought a center piece home decor item would be great for any room in the house. Any vase or container will work! Just add a bow to your container and pour in the pinecones! A very simple, yet effective way to spruce up any room.

I hope you've enjoyed this fun holiday DIY! I think it is a really fun way to do something special with pinecones for cheaper than trying to buy them. Custom is always better! Thanks for stopping by!

Better Homes Cinnamon Scented Pinecones

I started this project by gathering my supplies. The main supplies you will need are the plain garland, a way to hang it, and decorations. My garland is from the Dollar Tree. Although it is lower quality, you did get a long length for your money. If you're looking for a thicker garland, you can stack these up more and more for increased texture. As for decorations, I pulled out so many with tons of ideas I had, but what I ended up using included poinsettias, burlap bows, small pinecones, and holly berries. You can fit your decoration choices into any budget by utilizing coupons and the Dollar Store! Enjoy the video tutorial for this DIY Christmas Garland!

This is a simple and super customizable DIY. The hardest part about it is probably deciding what to put on it! There's also the decision on how to hang it. I went the Command Hook route because I can hang something up for each season. I absolutely adore how this came out and as I mentioned before the possibilities are endless! I really enjoyed making the centerpiece the most. I like how it draws the attention right to the center.

I hope you enjoyed this first Christmas DIY! I plan on making a bunch more this holiday season! If you want to see any specific holiday decor or gift ideas let me know! There's definitely a lot of magical surprises coming soon! I hope you enjoyed and thanks for stopping by!

Christmas Decor- Artificial Pine Garlands 15 Ft. (Set of 2)

Christmas House Poinsettia Bushes with Glittered Accents

Red Gold Silver Small Flocking Christmas Tree Decoration Bows

Burlap Ribbon Roll White Lace Trims 2.36" Wide, 2 x 78" Spools

The decorative panels measure 3/4" x 4", 2 1/4" x 4", and 3 1/4" x 4". You can adjust the layers as you please. The last and final step before decorating is to punch the hole for the tissues to come out of. Oval punches or dies work the best, but I only happened to have a couple of circular options. I decided on using my Fiskars scalloped circle punch to make the hole for my tissues. This is where the fun begins! The sky is the limit when you think about how you can decorate these fun gifts.

I used some simple glitter washi tape strips and paired it with a wood veneer word reading "hugs". I kept this one fairly simple since I wasn't sure who I would be gifting it to. This is a really unique way to brighten an ill person's day. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial. Thanks for stopping by!

With thoughts of chocolate and love in the air, I wanted to give a little bit to my lovely roommates. I mean who doesn't love chocolate and a cute hedgehog?! These tags began when I opened up my new distress ink mini kit #15. I knew I wanted to play with the beautiful red in the set and Valentine's Day was the perfect excuse to get a bit inky! I used my ink blender tool on some 7 Gypsies tags to get an ombre effect.

Once I had a solid red ombre I moved on to a little bit of stamping. I wanted a subtle pattern on the background of the tag without adding a lot of texture. I decided to use one of my Studio G stamps that said XOXO on it. I stamped this in the same distress ink I used on the background. My stamping adventure continues on these tags and I use the Lawn Fawn set called Hedgehugs. A super cute mini set that is definitely a need! I stamped all of these stamps in Memento black ink.

To give my tag a little more dimension, I stamped the sentiment on some white cardstock. I put it up on foam to give dimension and added some flag endings. At first, I didn't like the way the sentiments stuck out at the ends, but it's growing on me. Even with this dimension, the tags still felt a little bit flat. To finish them off, I added a couple clear sequins from Darice to add shine and pizzazz.

I also wanted to add some softer textures. I dug through my stash and found this Halloween pom pom trim and thought it was perfect! I added a small strand of this to the bottoms of each tag. It adds just the right amount of frill to the tags.

To bring it all together, I packaged up a couple of lip shaped chocolates into some plain ole lunch bags. Of course, I couldn't just leave them plain, so I stapled my tags and a doily on top for the perfect Valentine's day gift! I hope you enjoyed this fun DIY tag/gift! Thanks for stopping by!

Happy holidays! We're still chugging along with the Christmas spirit as well move on to some DIY presents here on the blog. Check out my entire DIY section for more fun gift ideas and more! Let's dive in to these fun and easy gift card holders!

I have created two examples for you all to see the flexibility these gift card holders have for decorations and themes. To start your gift card holder you'll want to cut a piece of heavyweight white cardstock down to 7.5" x 6". Next, you'll want to pull out your score board and get ready to write down these measurements!

When your longest side is against the top of your scoring board, you'll score at the 2 1/4" and 5 1/4". Turn your paper so that the short end of your paper is at the top of your scoring board and score it at the 1" and 5" marks. You'll see that this scoring pattern created four of the same sized rectangles - one in each corner.

You'll want to carefully cut each of these rectangles off of the main piece. Next, fold all of your score lines in to create the envelope type shape. The bottom flap of your current envelope may not fit properly. Fold it back down and trim a tiny bit off of the bottoms of each small rectangle on both sides. It should be a very thin triangle shape that runs from the bottom right corner of the small flaps to where the small flap meets the score line of the bottom pocket flap.

In the photo above, you'll notice that there are no flaps sticking out from the pocket area. I trimmed  my flaps down so they were not visible, however this is optional. Now it's time to decorate! I prefer to decorate before the pocket is formed, but that's another personal preference.

On both of these cards I used DCWV cardstock and DCWV's winter mat stack to create these cute gift card holders! I also created festive belly bands to keep the gift cad holders shut. My belly bands were 1" x 7 3/4".

I used a set of Michael's washi tape to decorate on top of the cardstock inside of the holders. On the top flap I used some EK Success snowflake stickers to add a winter touch. I used some old stamps from Studio G to add simple sentiments on the inside as well.

I hope you enjoyed this tutorial for easy DIY gift card holders! Gift cards are always a big hit for presents and these take it up to the next level! If you want to see more DIY gift ideas let me know in the comments below. Do you give out gift cards often? Thanks for stopping by!

This mini album is from Basic Grey and it's in the color milk chocolate. This is a waterfall album where the pages are not all the same size, but they have a cascade sort of effect. Making any type of mini album for friends or family is a really great and sentimental/thoughtful gift! I have a full flip through video below, but I will go into some more details and tips about giving a mini album as a gift down below!

Although I named most of the products in the flip through video, I'll also have some links to where you'll be able to purchase those or similar products at the end of this post. Now, I'll discuss the method I used for creating an album for someone else.

As for the inside of the mini album, I decided to keep it super simple. I mainly did a couple paper layers with the photos and then washi tape to add more color without adding dimension. As you might've been able to tell, this mini album does not lay flat. It's actually quite thick. This was due to the fact that I used a lot of wood veneer, chipboard, resin flowers, and more that caused so much dimension. I really enjoy dimension on my projects to add interest, but you don't have to add dimension. Washi tape and die cut pieces can add a lot of interest without having to get a lot of dimension.

One way to get an interesting look without a lot of bulk is to use different textures. In this example here, I used tissue paper, foiled polka dots, glittered pieces, and even the washi tape patterns add extra interest. Since you are making this for someone as a gift, be aware of their favorite colors. If you are unsure about their favorite colors, then maybe experiment with different color schemes on different pages.

I didn't want this mini album to be too photo heavy. I wanted there to be photos, but also the possibility to include fun and motivational spots for my niece to read. There's parts that say be brave and other parts that leave room for journaling. Don't be afraid to add fun interactive elements like pockets and tags that can be used to include more photos.

Treat each set of pages as if it is its own layout. This will help you experiment with new designs without getting stuck in a rut. However, if you're more comfortable sticking to one template, you go girl! This mini album should reflect your hard work and not just stress you out with being unique. As you saw in the flip through video, this minimalistic mini album took me two days to complete. I had an idea in mind and gathered supplies, then ran with it. It was freeing to work on a layout that was not 12x12 for once! I really enjoyed experimenting with a new shape and type of memory keeping and hope you all will try it too.

Classic Calico 2 Laser-Cut Wood Veneer Shapes-Tiny Stars

Carpe Diem Stickers 4x6 8/Pkg-Word Label

The first piece of inspiration for all of your Halloween crafts are these fun little 4x4 inch cards. I'll be giving these to my roommates for a little bit of Halloween spirit. They are all made out of a 8" x 4" heavy cardstock sheet that is scored at 4".

The gray cardstock on each card is cut to 3 3/4" x 3 3/4". Before starting any portion of the card, I grab my watercolor set and wet the black pan very well. Once you have a small brush with black paint on it, flick it onto the gray cardstock background. You'll want to make sure the area is clear for any rogue splatters. To get more "splats" than "spots" get closer to the paper and flick the brush harder. Let all of those pieces dry to the side.

While you're waiting for those to dry, we need to find pieces to make the focal point of the cards! In all of these examples, I use some reallllllllly old American Crafts remarks Halloween stickers. Since some of them seemed to blend in to the background, I grabbed a piece of this bright orange/yellow paper and used my 2" circle punch. Then, to make it all stand out even more, I used some foam adhesive squares.

Since our splatters are now dry, we can start assembling! Once you have every one of your paper pieces in place, we'll want to pick out which sequins or gems you'll want to decorate your card with. For this project, I used black sequins from Darice and some orange ones from Kat Scrapiness in the Tutti Fruti Mix.

All of these cards have a diagonal visual line across them. I like to do this because it helps add somewhere for the eye to go. If it was just the center piece it wouldn't be as fluid, but still just as pretty. Now that the cards are all done, let's move on to the tag pieces!

These tags are pre-cut white tags by 7 Gypsies. They are the perfect size to go along with the boxes you'll see later in this post! I did the same technique on these as I have on the cards. First things first, we'll want to get the splatters out of the way. Same technique on these with the different splats and drops. Once they are dry, we can decorate! I wanted to create a base, so I used black washi tape from Ikea and then a border strip that says "boo" from DCWV's The Bewitched Stack.

These beautiful boxes were made using a simple tutorial. Each box will use one 12" x 12" piece of paper and one 6" x 6" piece of paper. For the bottom of the box, you will score it on all side at the 3" and 6" mark. This will give you 9 boxes in total. You'll want to cut four of those lines in towards the center (but only to the length of one square). All lines should be parallel to each other. Check out a video tutorial if you're confused. Then, the same thing for the smaller bozes, except you'll only need to make 4 score lines at the 15/16" line on each side. Once it's all glued  together, you're done!

These little fun gifts are perfect for anyone in your life! I hope you enjoyed all of these spooky ideas! I wish you a happy and safe Halloween! Stay tuned for Saturday's video, as it is another holiday project! Thanks for stopping by!

Spring is in the air, sort of kinda, depending on the day at least. Today I am here to really get you into the spring spirit with a very cute and inexpensive DIY! These adorable miniature birdhouses are a dollar or less with a coupon from your local craft store and they come in a variety of styles to choose from. Let your heart pick its favorite and then get out your paints!

For this bird house I decided that it would look so cute in this Lilly Pulitzer pattern of roses. I first started off by painting a base coat of this blue in the shade skjdfb by sfkbksg. You may need two coats depending on color and quality of the paint. Let them dry completely before moving on to the next step! The other colors I used in this DIY are white by Joann's, candy pink by Joann's, green by Applebarrel, and metallic green by Martha Stewart.

The stickers for the title are actually from the Target dollar spot! I hope you enjoyed my layout and enjoy the process video below. Thanks for stopping by!

I know it may seem a little bit early for a Valentine's Day post, but you'll want to get a head start on this meaningful project. Love is in the air, especially around the day of love! Instead of just one day to shower lots of love, surprise your significant other with 14 days of love. Now it's really a matter of preference how big you go with each day. You could progressively give more and more love with a large present on the last day. Or you can take my inspiration and give a card with one thing you love about your partner everyday, then the gifts on Valentine's Day! Either way it's up to you, but love is all that matters and anyone even your best friend would enjoy this idea.
