Grill Master // 12x12 Layout Share

July 28, 2016

Summer is absolutely flying by! Today I'm bringing you all a summer themed layout (kinda-sorta). This was actually a grab five challenge for myself, but I wasn't set up to film. So, you get just a layout instead! This picture that I scrapped is of my boyfriend grilling some burgers for everyone. My color scheme was inspired by the photo since the shirt color popped quite nicely.

I used two papers from the DCWV The Green Stack for this layout. I layered my photo on some papers from a Colorbox stack. At this point of my process, I've realized that it's looking quite boring, so I was thinking of doing some sort of mixed media. I settled on doing some background stamping! I really wish I would stamp on layouts some more. I used this scripty background stamp (no idea where it's from) in some black ink.

After I had the photo spot decided, I wanted to make a really fun embellishment cluster. This one is one of my craziest ones yet! I started with the "Life is good" sticker from the dollar store, then I started searching for more little bits and bobs. I then decided to make this little deer head punch of good use and punched one out and stuck it down. Then, I recently received this cute stamp set from Elle's Studio and stamped it in Staz-on. Then I started to look at using some washi tapes! I ended up using two of them, the top one is from Oriental Trading and the thin one is from the dollar store.

I wanted to use some brads on this layout as well and remembered these fun letter brads. I love all of the textures I achieved with this layout!! Then on this side of the cluster I also included the chipboard house from Dear Lizzy. I have included a Studio Calico wood veneer, a heart sticker from Pretty Little Studio, a tiny word sticker from Tim Holtz, and a little die-cut from Colorbox in this cluster as well.

That's pretty much it for this layout! The title is from some chipboard stickers from Target and I added some chipboard corners to add some interest as well. I hope you enjoyed! Thanks for stopping by!
