VIDEO: "December Daily" Pocket Page Process // Dear Santa

December 19, 2017

Hello everyone and welcome back to the blog! It's actually been quite a while since I've typed one of these up the day it goes live, but here I am in my hotel room typing it up for you! If you didn't know, I am currently on a business trip (I know, so close to Christmas), and I'll be heading back home today thank goodness! Today I have another process video for this double page spread. Spreading so much Christmas cheer!

This spread is for my "December Daily" 2016 album. I have it in quotes since this is not a daily album, but rather just full of December memories. Below is the process video that I hope you'll enjoy!

The left page starts with a 6x8 sheet of patterned paper from DCWV. I have a giant stack of paper from DCWV from so long ago and I'm still trying to get through it all! A little at a time they always say. I took this photo of Sam and matted it on a piece of paper from the Oh Joy collection by Pinkfresh Studio. I also used washi tape and a doily as layers.

I created two clusters on this page. One is the top left of the photo and then there's one along the bottom edge of the photo. The top left is made out of an Elle's Studio cut apart and a wood veneer. A small cluster, but cute still!

The bottom cluster is a plethora of things, but the main items are a chipboard gift from Carta Bella, a label diecut from Elle's Studio, a brad from Echo Park, and a sticker from Tim Holtz. Trying to balance of these colors is the key to making them all work together. Since my photo had red in it, a green background will help the red pop more.

The second page has two filler cards. The one on the bottom left is made with a piece of paper again from the giant DCWV stack you've been seeing in my videos lately. I paired an adorable tag from Echo Park as the main component. He's so jolly! I looped some red and white twine from my stash through the punched hole. I also added a couple more embellishments.

The last card is also my title card. I thought "dear Santa" was a cute phrase that I hadn't even used before. This chipboard piece is from Carta Bella and paired with a diecut from Echo Park and some lovely wood veneer. The card is an Elle's Studio journaling card and it's so fun!

I hope you enjoyed this process video! Are you all doing December Daily this year? I'm so glad I am not with how busy I have been! Let me know how yours is going in the comments. Thanks for stopping by!
