VIDEO: Christmas Wall Decor // Banner and Cut out Art!

Season's greeting everyone! I hope you're starting to get into the full swing of the holidays and join in on all of my holidays projects. There's a video at the end of this post so you can follow along as I make them. If you try out any of these ideas be sure to share with me your works in the comments! These two projects were inspired by my giant stack of Christmas/Winter paper by DCWV and all of this pretty paper just can't go to waste! You also probably saw this paper in my latest Christmas card post. So, let's just jump into these projects!
For our first project to get you in the holiday spirit, you'll need paper, twine, and tape! This is just a really simple and easy banner that you can throw together in minutes right before your Christmas party! You'll want to start by choosing a few (3-5) different papers you want to use.
Once you've decided which papers work well together, you'll want to figure out how you want your banner to look. You can go for a triangle shape, like mine above, or you could go for a rectangular banner shape. If you don't want to free hand them, feel free to go ahead and find a free template online. Once you have all of your banner pieces cut out, grab your twine/string and your tape. For more detailed instructions on this see the video at the end of this post. You'll basically just fold over some of the top of your triangle and put the thread in the sandwich and tape it in the middle.
Then hang up as desired! Mine ended up being the length of my entire bedroom wall and I absolutely love it! This banner is just a really simple way to dress up a wall, mantle, door way or anything else you can stick a banner on. Plus, it's so easily customizable for any holiday you celebrate.
So for our next project, you'll want to keep your scraps from your banner. You will also need scissors, tape, glue, pencil, cardboard, and a piece of cardstock. You may also want a template and a frame. For more details on how to complete this project, please check out my video at the end of this post. Once you have all of your supplies gathered, start to think about what you want your cut out art to be. I chose mine to be a heart.
You'll want to cut out your shape from the center of your cardstock. Then trace your shape onto your cardboard backing. Once it is traced on, you'll want to start laying on your scrap paper pieces in an arrangement you like then adhere them on!
Then adhere your cardstock on to your cardboard to make a sandwich around your cut out art! I added a sentiment to mine as well. I hope you enjoyed! If you complete and of my DIYs please put a link in the comments so I can see!
