Cookie Monsters // 12x12 using 6x6!
May 03, 2016
Hey there people! Welcome to my blog! If you're new here be sure to sign up for my newsletters, subscribe, follow me on social media, check out all of my videos and you know the drill. Hopefully you'll be coming over here a lot more often! Today, we've got an interesting layout for a few reasons. The first reason is because that background paper isn't 12x12 it's actually 4 pieces of 6x6 paper! Did I fool any of you? It looks like one piece, doesn't it?! The 6x6 paper is from the Kathy Davis Ambrosia line. Second, the brown strip of patterned paper is beyond crooked and I'm just noticing now! Urgh, of well, what's done is done and I'm going to have to live with it!
Like I said before this background is actually made out of four 6x6 inch pieces of patterned paper. Luckily, it's a repeating pattern. This is an amazing way to use your 6x6 papers in a different way! I highly recommend it, even if it's a small pattern that doesn't really line up, have your photos cover most of the seams and no one will know!
This little die-cut here is from the Dear Lizzy 12x12 paper pad from the Day Dreamer collection and this is from the cut apart sheet. Then, to add some more interest I used a cork banner sticker from Oriental Trading and a strip of paper from the Crate Paper Notes & Things 6x6 to add another banner piece on the side of the die-cut.
The other triangular patterned paper peaking out from both sides is also from that Crate Paper collection. Then I added a Thickers chipboard pink border underneath all of my photos (to help hide the seam of the background papers) and ended up having to put my photos on some foam adhesive.
This adorable arrow is from the Dear Lizzy chipboard pack. The tiny word stickers and letter stickers are all from Studio 112. I hope you all enjoyed this layout! If you try and make a 12x12 from 6x6 pieces of patterned paper let me know how it goes! I'd love to see! For product details see below!
