I picked out the yellow mainly to neutralize how yellow the photo was. The lighting in this store that we took this photo in was horrifying. Since I did a big batch of photo prints I didn't edit any of my photos and this was the result. So, if you ever have photos that might look too yellow try giving them a competing background to balance them out!


I couldn't just leave it as a yellow striped background so, I used my floral stencil from Plaid once again, but this time using some gesso. I found that the gesso added more texture than acrylic paint and that it didn't seep under my stencil nearly as much. After I finished the background, I set it aside to dry. Next, I had decided I wanted to use some of my scraps in my catch all tray. This is a little white dish that I keep on my desk for little leftover punch outs and such. There I found these pink flowers (by Studio 112), the scalloped circle of patterned paper and the punched out butterflies.


Sticking with this pinkish theme I decided I wanted to use up some of these American Crafts Thicker shapes. I found this pack at a garage sale once so I'm hoping to finish up the pack this year. Slowly, but surely. To add a but more interest, I layered some scrap papers behind my photo. I believe the pink one is by KI Memories, but I'm not sure about the other one.


To add the final touches to this 12x12 layout, I added some silver and white twine (I scored it at Target for .90!) and some silver half pearls from Michael's. A question for you all while we wrap things up, why does it seem that everyone loves gold?! What about poor silver?! I love them equally! I hope you enjoyed this layout!
