Belated Birthday Card // Mint Owl Studio Stamps

Hello friends! It has been a long time since I have shared a card with you all, so today I wanted to share one with you. This fun little card is for my father's birthday which was earlier this month, but we celebrated it after his actual day. I thought that this was the perfect chance to try out these brand new stamps from Mint Owl Studios. I purchased this little punny stamp set from Tupelo Designs LLC. The set features a few moose themed sentiments and could be used for many occasions!
This card starts out with a base of 110 lb. white cardstock cut to 8 1/2" x 5 1/2" and scored at 4 1/4" on the long side. This is the size for a standard A2 sized card. Next, I cut this fun yellow-orange polka dot paper from My Mind's Eye to 5 1/4" x 4". This allows a small border along the outside edge. Then, I got into stamping!
I stamped all of my images on to some more 110 lb. white cardstock using my Staz-on Jet Black ink. This ink is ideal when you plan on watercoloring images, but there are some alternative non-water soluble inks. All of the stamps I used are from the same Mint Owl Studio stamp set. I can't wait to stamp more of these little critters for more cards! I didn't do any fancy watercoloring on these pieces. I just used two shades of brown on my little moose and then tried to match the present images to the colors of the card.
I layered a 4 inch doily from Wilton, then a really bright blue tag on top of that to give some interest behind my stamped images. I like how both of these elements in particular add different textures to the card. I considered possibly using some foam adhesive to add some dimension behind some of my cut out pieces, but thought that it would make it a little too busy.
To complete the card, I added a few of these white pearls on the top left and the bottom right. It adds some more movement to the card and adds some more elements.
