Happy November 1st! I'm still getting over the Halloween buzz, but so excited for this exciting month! I have some big plans for projects this month including more autumnal color schemes, family themed layouts, and starting to shift into the Christmas spirit. I hope you're as excited as I am for the festivities coming up. Today, I'm sharing with you another card creation. I've been having too much fun playing with my new stamp sets. This is a really fun shaker card that I created! Let's hop to it!

I have caught the sequin bug. I have quite a few sets of sequins that I've collected and I want to start using them! Shaker cards are a great way to use up sequins and I have an easy tutorial for how to make them. You'll want to grab a large paper punch for this project. First you'll have to determine how far your punch can reach into your paper. As you can see, my shaker window is very close to the right side because my paper punch can only reach so far. Once you've decided where to put it, grab two foam sheets and punch a circle out of both of them and glue them together. Next, you'll want to attach these foam sheets to your card base. My card base is A2 sized (4 1/4" x 5 1/2").


Before you glue down your foam, you'll want to line up your paper layers and trace around where you cut out your circle and punch it through to finish your window. My layers are 4" x 5 1/4" and 2 3/4" x 5 1/4". So, now that you have everything aligned, you'll want to set your paper layers aside and get out your sequins!


For my sequin mix on this card, I pulled out some Darice clear sequins in 4mm and 8mm sized, some white Darice sequins in 8mm, silver sequins from my stash in 4mm, 8mm, and 10mm, then lastly, some silver stars from Kat Scrappiness. This is a really soft sequin mix that I threw together, but if you're not comfortable mixing your own sequins together there are plenty of premade mixes out there for purchase!


Once you have your desired amount of sequins in your shaker, you'll want to get your acetate ready. I use acetate/plastic from packaging of stickers and what not, but you can also purchase acetate from various retailers. You'll want to seal in your shaker pocket very well. You could use scor-tape or another strong adhesive. Once it is closed up and secure, we can put on our paper layers. I found that paper has a hard time sticking to the foam that I use, so liquid adhesives may be best. To decorate
