Birthday Card // Using Themed Stamps

February 04, 2016

Hello again everyone! I hope your week is going well. Today, I am sharing with you a fun card I created using themed stamps. We all have some interesting themed stamp sets that we don't use too often because the theme doesn't seem to fit with our everyday lives. Birthday cards are actually really easy to use themed stamp sets with and I'll show you my latest example today!

This fun and whimsical birthday card is for a co-worker of mine. It will be from the entire office hence the greeting on the inside that you will see later. To start off this card I began by grabbing some watercolor paper (mine is by Canson) and my watercolors. I used just a plain brush to achieve this look. First, I began by laying clean water down onto the paper in a square panel shape. Then I began with the lightest color yellow, then blended that with orange and then red on the paper to create a gradient of sorts. Then I created a new panel of water to begin the cool colors. I started with yellow again, then went to green, and then blue and let the water blend them together.

Once my watercolor was completely dry, I grabbed this stamp set by Inkadinkado and stamped out all of these cute underwater creatures in black memento ink (all products will be listed below).

After I stamped them all in the colors I wanted, I began to fussy cut them out. This was probably the most tedious part of making this card. Once they were finally all cut out, I grabbed a card base made out of kraft cardstock and began to lay them out. When I was happy with the way they were laid out with the banner sentiment from studio g, I began to glue them down.

I also decided that the inside of the card was quite boring, so I glued down this little guy in there and wrote in a cute sentiment tying in all of the elements. If you have any sort of animal stamp set this is a really easy way to get another use out of it! I hope you guys enjoyed this birthday card. All products that are still available will be listed below. Thank you so much for stopping by!
