Zoo Boo! // 8 1/2 x 11 Layout Share

October 04, 2016

Happy October everyone! This is my first (second) blog post of the month and we're already jumping in to the Halloween spirit! If you're not a fan of Halloween or don't celebrate it, don't worry! These projects can still have plenty of inspiration for other types of pages! Now let's get into the page!

I started this page with a piece of Recollections gray cardstock. Now I know that plenty of us have a problem with hoarding cardstock, so I've been trying to get some used up! The obvious color scheme for Halloween pages is black and orange. While I did follow this trend, I also added in some teal. For most 8 1/2" x 11" pages, I tend to use one photo. This time I used a 4"x4" photo of my boyfriend and I after a Halloween themed event we volunteered at. I layered some hounds-tooth tissue paper and two pieces of patterned paper behind the photo. The tissue paper gives a fun texture, while the patterned papers add in some more of the colors.

I included one large cluster on this layout and then two smaller ones. I based my placement of these clusters off of where I put my stenciled medium. I used a Heidi Swapp dot stencil to add even more texture to the layout. My right sided cluster is made up of some glitter stickers from Jolee's Boutique, a skull dimensional sticker from Jolee's Boutique, some Tim Holtz occasion tiny word stickers, some teal twine, some square black gems, and a chipboard star from Studio G. This is a very busy cluster and this is why my other clusters are a lot smaller than this one.

This smaller cluster in the upper left was mainly put here just to hold the date of the photo. I laid down a piece of orange washi tape from Jot to be a base for the Teresa Collins stickers on top of it. I wanted a little more in to the top cluster and so I included another glitter sticker from Jolee's Boutique, an orange gem, and some more of the black square gems. In this photo you can also see some of the splatters I included using October Afternoon Sprinklers in the color Comets Tail.

The title of this layout starts off using the same font stickers as the date which are from Teresa Collins. Then, I used this giant "boo" sticker from Studio G to complete it. This was a really fun layout to make since I haven't scrapped a lot of Halloween photos yet. I hope you enjoyed this first festive project and hope you're ready for more! Thanks for stopping by! Let me know in the comments if you're a big Halloween person or not so much. Personally, I just love the candy ;).
