Jealous Nell // 12x12 Layout Share

January 12, 2017

I'm not sure why, but I have really been in the mood to scrap with spring color schemes. This layout especially fell in to that color scheme that I love so much. Surprisingly, this layout uses up a bunch of my scraps! This was just one of those layouts that practically put itself together. It was pretty fast and I love layouts that are really neat and simple. I hope you enjoy this really fun and layer filled layout share today!

This layout began with a striped cardstock piece from Craft Smith's coastal collection. This photo didn't bring many color restrictions since it was so neutral, so I dug into my scrap bin! All of the layers behind my photo are scraps. The brown layer is from KI Memories, the light blue patterned paper is from K & Company, the grid and floral paper are from Colorbox. To give these layers more definition I used a fine tip black pen to create some doodle like borders. Another way you can add definition between layers is by inking the edges or stitching around the edges.

I made a cluster to the left side of the photo focused on this felt leaf piece. I combined it with a really old sticker on some foam adhesive. In this photo you can also see the scalloped border piece I added. I originally had it without an outline and felt that it really needed it to make the layout more continuous. This cluster is somewhat conjoined with the next cluster on the top left of the photo.

This cluster contains a really old tab piece from Stampin' Up  in a nice olive color. On top of that is a gray heart sticker from Elle's Studio Let's Eat sticker sheet. In one of my more recent haul videos I shared this dog bone shaped paper clips and I decided to slip one in on this layout.

The last cluster I created was opposite the large photo cluster and runs vertically. I used another section of the border strip I used earlier as well as another felt shape. My title would make more sense if you all got to read my journaling. Our poor pup, Comet, gets so jealous of our cats, so we call him Jealous Nell sometimes. So, that's what I was trying to capture with this layout. I hope you all enjoyed this simple layout! Thanks for stopping by!
