Silhouettes // 12x12 Layout Share
May 16, 2017
Hello friends! Welcome back to my blog for another project/post! I am so excited that the weather is finally turning up. It is supposed to be in the 80's this week! I hope you are having some lovely weather wherever you are. Today, I am sharing a very simple layout that I found and hadn't shared yet. This was probably made in early 2016. So, I decided to photograph it before filing it all away. Let's hop in to the details, shall we?
I started this layout with a color that I am not usually partial to. I used this bright peach textured cardstock from Colorbok. I had this simple photo to scrapbook with a simple message. Overall, I wanted to keep the layout simple. I decided to do some easy mixed media on the background. I used some white acrylic paint to create texture. I used a wide flat brush and made some strokes on the background.
Since my photo was very dark, I wanted to keep everything around it lighter. I used papers from My Mind's Eye and Crate Paper as layers for my photo. I also used an interesting shaped scrap as a layer. I had used traingular cuts outs from this paper for another layout, but used the remaining part for a layer here.
Lastly, I included a small white Wilton doily to provide more shapes on the layout. I hope you enjoyed this simple layout share. Sometimes a good simple layout can really spark some creative mojo. Thanks for stopping by!
