You + Me = Magic // Card Creations

May 04, 2017

Hello friends and welcome back to another card creation share! I have a fun metallic themed card that I just threw together. There wasn't a real plan at all other than that I wanted to use this adorable stamp set from Avery Elle! I really should make a pack to use all of my stamp sets at least once before buying any more. I think, note that I said think, I should do a purge once I am home for the summer. Before I know it I will be moving out of my parent's house and I definitely have at least one car load of crafting supplies, eek! Enough of me freaking out, let's get into this adorable card!

I started off with a basic base made out of 110 lb. cardstock. I purchased mine at Michael's, but I hear that even Walmart is carrying some nice stuff now. Once my base was scored and ready, I worked on the main section of the card. I used this cool triangle holographic patterned paper from DCWV.

I wasn't exactly sure where I was going after I picked out my base piece other than I wanted to use this adorable stamp set from Avery Elle. I stamped this cute bunny in Memento black ink and then pulled out my Reeve's water color pencils. I shaded it first and then added some water to soften the look. Once he was dry, I fussy cut him out and set him aside.

I wanted something to help break up the background, so I looked through my washi tapes. I found this Scotch wide washi tape with a fun polka dot silver pattern. I really like how it mutes the black pattern, but you can still see the debossed triangles in the background. I still wasn't content with the background and thought it needed more pizzazz. After pondering, I pulled out these sequins and made an alternating pattern. This adds a lot to this card! I have never done anything like this before on my cards, but I love how it turned out! I still need somewhere for my little bunny and the sentiment to rest. I ended up finding this coordinating My Mind's Eye paper. I used a 2 inch circle paper punch to make the perfect home for my bunny.

I used two other circular punches for the sentiment. The first one is punched out of black cardstock which I then covered in glitter using my Wink of Stella clear glitter pen. Then, I stamped the sentiment on a smaller white cardstock circle and placed on foam adhesive. I finished the card off using some coordinating sequins. I hope you enjoyed this super metallic card! Thanks for stopping by!
