Top Of The World - 12x12 Layout Process // Episode T - Summer of Stories

August 08, 2019

I am so excited to be sharing Episode T of the Summer of Stories series today! I think this is such an interesting page that has a bit of a tilt to it! Let's dive right in.

I pulled out a background paper from Pinkfresh Studio's Be You collection with these beautiful mixed media looking stripes. This inspired me to work in my own mixed media touch by stamping some fun stripes in the blank spaces. I used two stamp sets, Heidi Swapp and Basic Grey, to create some arrow rows. I used Hampton Arts Teal ink and Distress Ink in Worn Lipstick. These weren't 100% perfect matches, but it worked out in the end.

The process video above explains so much more of the process for the stamping portion of the layout. But if you want even more in-depth details about the process head over to Patreon where this was a real-time process video! I kept the embellishment clusters very simple. I used some pre-made cluster stickers from Pinkfresh Studio paired with some other stickers from my kit.

You might have also noticed that I added quite a bit of ribbon on to this layout. I was lucky to have included this mustard yellow trim in my kit and decided to use that to create some additional stripes on the background as well. When is the last time you used ribbon on a layout?

I think the title ends up adding a lot of impact on the layout. I really enjoy that I got to work on this angle. Have you ever made a layout on an angle like this? I think is only the second time I've ever given it a try. I hope you enjoyed this layout process video!
