Ultimate Tourist - 12x12 Layout Process // Episode U - Summer of Stories

August 13, 2019

As many of you know I love documenting travel! Travel pages are my absolute favorite to make. Today for Summer of Stories I'm sharing yet another travel page. This 12x12, multi-photo layout was fun to work on.

I started with the idea in mind to use this ledger paper as a base to make it easy to journal and stamp a title on straight. I discuss in my video below a bit more about holding on to things for certain pages or ideas and the frustration of feeling like there's no progress being made.

While this is a rather plain layout, I still love the effect it gives. You may be able to find this design featured in an upcoming Go-To Design Series, so stay tuned! I used a simple pastel color scheme to let the photos pop.

This small cluster is one of my favorites. That typewriter diecut from One Canoe Two is so cute! I paired it with a Heidi Swapp ampersand sticker and a puffy circle from Pinkfresh Studio. Working with this embellishment kit that I made for How To Kill a Kit With Style has been pretty easy going. It gave me a lot of choices without being overwhelming and I think I've found a way to create faster by giving myself embellishment kits.

As I mentioned earlier, I know I wanted to stamp my title. This font from Pinkfresh Studio is one of my favorite scripts (except that darn T)! I used my Versafine black ink to give it a bold feel and paired it with some round typewriter-like Thickers.

To help balance the right-hand side I made two mini clusters on the left-hand side. Including this little word cluster that I think adds just the perfect amount of text and splash of color to the tops of these photos. While it is a simple layout, it's still documented and it counts! Thanks for stopping by today!
