VIDEO: 12x12 Layout Process Video - Lovely // Homemade Scrapbook Kit Collab

February 20, 2018

Time for another layout process video! I'm back with another layout made from my awesome kit. If you haven't seen the full kit video, you can check it out here! Today's layout looks way better in person than it does in photos. I had a lighting situation happening on the day of these photos, so please forgive me for their unevenness. Let's hop right in to this elegant layout!

I did a tiny bit of cheating on this kit layout. I pulled in just a couple of things that weren't a part of it originally, but they made all the difference! The background paper is a subtle light cream color heart pattern from DCWV. I cut a large pink patterned paper from the same collection to be the main focus for my photo to sit on top of. I really wanted these beautiful florals from a Paige Evans paper to pop, so I added in a layer of vellum to soften the pink paper. Get more details in my process video below!

The color scheme from the photo really went with these beautiful flowers. The greens and teals in both of our outfits help balance out the leaf colors and flower shades. I nestled these under my photo to help draw attention inward. My photo is layered on a Echo Park pink patterned paper which isn't quite the right shade for this layout, but it will do and a Freckled Fawn square doily. These are my guilty pleasure! I wish I had purchased more when I had the chance!

I managed to do a teeny tiny bit of mixed media on this layout with a fun polka dot stencil from Echo Park. I used my Heidi Swapp gold modeling paste to bring more of the metallic color in. My title is this fun acetate square from Pink Paislee. The word "lovely" is actually in a hot pink foil which better coordinates with the blooms, but it wouldn't pick up well on camera.

I did very light embellishing on this layout since the flowers took up a lot of visual space. I used a couple of chipboard pieces from American Crafts Dear Lizzy, some Heidi Swapp puffy stickers, and some die cuts from Pink Paislee's Cest La Vie collection.

This dreamy layout turned out even better than I imagined. I used some of my favorite supplies and some new techniques! I hope you all enjoyed this one. Thank you so much for stopping by!
