VIDEO: Color With Me! - Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens // Valentine Card Share

Hello crafty people! I am finally back with another card blog post! I feel like it has been way too long since I've shared one with you all. Luckily this is a double treat with two fun cards! I have a color along with me video below and I share the finished cards with you all.
These cards feature this adorable My Favorite Things stamp set called Party Like a Pirate! I stamped these images using my Versafine black ink on to Canson XL watercolor paper. I then heat embossed them with WOW clear embossing powder. I think it's always a good idea to use a little bit of clear embossing powder when planning on doing any coloring technique. It helps keep the color in the section you wish. Enjoy the color along video with me down below.
I used a bunch of different zig clean color markers to color these adorable elements. Below is a list of the colors I used and for which item!
Pirate w/ Sword:
Skin - #71 Flesh Color
Hair - #63 Ochre
Vest and Pants - #35 Deep Blue
Shirt - #70 Orange, #91 Light Gray, #36 Light Blue
Boots - #95 Dark Gray
Hat - #10 Black
Sword - #91 Light Gray
Island: #40 Green, #46 Mid Green, # 65 Mid Brown, # 63 Ochre.
Pirate w/ Flag:
Skin - #71 Flesh Color
Hair - #65 Mid Brown
Hat - #70 Orange
Shirt - #36 Light Blue
Flag - #65 Mid Brown, #24 Wine Red
Sword - #91 Light Gray
Boots - #91 Light Gray
Pants - #35 Deep Blue
Parrot: #41 Light Green, #52 Bright Yellow, #51 Lemon Yellow, #50 Yellow, #40 Green
Ship: #63 Ochre, #65 Mid Brown, #91 Light Gray, #24 Wine Red
I adore how these cards came out. I used more Canson XL Watercolor paper for the backgrounds. I cut them down to 4" x 5 1/4" and used distress inks in Peacock Feathers and Lucky Clover to make two shades of blue. I then spritzed some water on the background to get the variation in colors.
I used different sets of dies to add elements to my card. I used Impression Obsession cloud dies to make a beautiful sky and a stitched hill die to get a sandy shore. The sand looking paper is from DCWV's Costal stack. I put all of this together on a traditional A2 sized card made out of Kraft cardstock.
For my second card I did a simpler background. I used my Impression Obsession wave dies and more paper from DCWV to get these awesome waves for my ship to sit on. I inked the edges with Tea Dye distress ink for more dimension. On the inside of this card I did a little bit more fun.
I took our little parrot friend and placed him on the sentiment. All of the sentiments used are from the same MFT stamp set. I love this little parrot. Such a cute little guy!
